Oh, my goodness - this show was a gift! The film clip of Angela Lansbury and Carol Channing is priceless! Richard's well-chosen guests added to this exciting show. Three cheers to Jerry Herman and his never-to-be-forgotten legacy to us, and three cheers to RICHARD SKIPPER for keeping that legacy of Jerry's gorgeous music alive!
This episode was full of love joy and celebration! The celebration of one of the most amazing Broadway songwriters, the wonderful Jerry Herman. Bringing together the team of Carol, Harland and Ann was an hour of laughs and tears with some wonderfully powerful stories and music. This was the first time I heard the overture to Miss Spectacular and instantly fell in love with it! Thank you Richard for another beautiful celebration of an the life and worth of Jerry Herman!!!
This is a jubilant lovefest of an episode that leaves one insatiably craving to hear and see more. Now that's quite a quadrumvirate of Richard, Jane, Harlan, and Ann. Seeing Jerry, Carol, and Don certainly induces teary eyes. We missed your participation today, phenomenal Lee Roy. The insights on Jerry's essence as a perennially optimistic, balanced, humorous, multi-gifted, peacemaking, diplomatic person and as a brilliantly consummate, beloved musical theatre creative force of transcendent stature are irresistibly enlightening. The precious clips are priceless. Jerry's iconic canon and unassailable legacy are forever an uplifting soundtrack of our lives, not relegated to "wallpaper" but a completely immersive comfort zone of upbeat inspiration. The "Miss Spectacular" Overture is another quintessential Jerry composition, replete with the feel-good feels one feels while gladly basking in the overwhelming thrill of attending a Broadway musical. Gratefully, Alan (Alan K. Choy)
