Yes Koch has shown she was made to sing this role..even though I think part of her big aria was a bit cut for this production..her Paris Opera version is sublime a d dramatically superbly done as any viewer of this work realizes

Ve seen delightful productions at the MEt at Glyndebourne At Paris all perfection…his one does not seem to be as bad as some seem to think it’s still the music and singers that make itonderful..and the sublime music!!!!Strauss and Hofmanstahl too!

Cutting the last bars of the composers aria here did ruin the proloque!
