I think Saladin is a well designed classical enemy with strong defence as well as attack... While Richard is designed to attack as soon as possible in death matches...that's why he has small castles but strong army
The arabian lords have one quite unfair advantage there and that's the nature of their units which are fueled purely by gold. With 40k gold they can spam them from the start, you could see that even though european units are more expensive both in price of recruitment and getting their armor/weapons, Saladin is the one who runs out of gold much faster.
Patryk Klimczak european units are cheaper but made slower and you can bost them(doing bette in combat) by using the good factor, the mercenaries are good but they cost too much gold, they are good in defence and you can use them in late game
Azmat Ali yes, the european troops are less expensive but they are less effective in late game when you have tons of gold and the arabian troops are more powerful than european troops

Not only do Arabian units only cost gold, they dont require an armory. Arabian swordsman is 80 gold. To get 5 swordsman, you need 400 gold and 5 peasents. That's it. Buying the equipment directly is 600 gold rounded up, 290 for swords and armor. You get 5 per purchase, so each European swordsman costs 120 gold per unit, not counting their hiring cost. And you need to have an armory to store it. So not only are European swordsman more expensive, they also take longer to get ready, even under the best circumstances. From nothing, the Arabian lord will be able to field more units and faster. At the very least they are individually weaker, but then Saladin makes out his positive fear factor.
ZS studio as far your statement that a crossbow man can kill an arabian swords man in 3 hits...You forget to mention that crossbowmen are way too slow than arabian archers ...3 for hits made by crossbowman means 8-10 hits made by arabian archer ...Also the archers are fast and have bit more range

Richard has a strong attack with relentless catapult assaults but lacks a good economy to maintain that attack and a strong castle. Saladin is the most well balanced lord with the best economy and a formidable defense as well as a good attack. In this map where the castles are so close Saladin has the advantage since he can use his defense as an offense with the tower mounted artillery wreaking havoc on Richard's castle

@Joseph Gru I don’t think you can throw flaming arrows from the ground, also flaming arrows don’t burn when hit the ground, unless there’s pitch set up. Those were definitely flame throws I noticed it before too especially while playing against Saladin
saladin uses a trick where he uses archers to extend the firethrower's throwing distance, if you pay attention when the firethrower throws his fire very far nearby there are archers shooting in the same direction as the firethrower's throw, they shoot their arrows into an area manually by combining the firethrower, ,, you can use this trick for slingers too, and the results are amazing

Sie sind aber Wirtschaftlich meist deutlich stärker. Allein das viele von ihnen Brot machen macht sie sehr stark in dem Fall. Die Europäische Wirtschaft besteht halt hauptsächlich aus dem Verkauf von Waffen und Steinen. Hier müssen sie beides kaufen.
Theoretisch müssten alle Europäischen KI gegen Saladin verlieren! Allein auf grund der Bogenschützen kommt man dagegen einfach nicht an mit den normalen Europäischen.

You guys are crazy of course Saladin could get his guys out first Lion Heart uses barrack units while he uses mercenaries. In money only resource game he wins, give Lion Heart a chance to disrupt his economy he's going down.
