Richard Wagner is my favourite composer and Lorin Maazel's arrangement and performance of this adaptation of this masterpiece is beyond words. The Berliner Philharmoniker has proven yet again what a world leading orchestra it is. Bravo.
😂indeed. My compliments for those in charge because the interrupties are getting more annoying because of their sublime timing like Wagner. Yet they will nèver push me into spending more money. But-hey- I'm dutch....
No matter how tall the son is. Father will always be Father. There are multiple recordings of Wagner's The Ring Without Words developed by Lorin Maazel and all are excellent in their own respect, but this one conducted by Maestro Lorin Maazel himself is excellent without boundaries. I personally feel as if God helped the Wagner in creating this opera "The Ring of Nibelungen", but Lorin Maazel remastered this epic as per taste of 21st century to give it a new life.
Unfurtnulately you didn't mention Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert,Schumann,Mendelssohn and Brahms! Though I'm a wagnerian as well and love his music whih it's narcotic influence on the mind of all human beings, but we shouldn't never forget , what has followed!
Wagner, the master of the masters knew how to bring Schopenhauer's philosophy into music and make it visual - just absolutely sublime and magnificent. Of course, to deliver a superb performance, nothing like American conductor Lorin Maazel, one of the greatest conductors of the XX Century. He was to Wagner like conductor Valery Gergiev is to Prokofiev. So proud of my Western culture and civilization and this gift for all the world to enjoy.
I was studying peacefully, working on a hard subject with this beautiful piece in my headphones, then suddenly 12:50.... It literally made me jump from my chair, I wasn't expecting it to be so loud 😭😭🤣
I can NOT believe this - I've found my most favourite recording by the late great Lorin Maazel of Wagner's The Ring Without Words. I listen to it almost every day and always when driving! What I did not know is that this piece was arranged by Maazel himself. So thank you TALOSQUATTRORETURN for this. When I listen to it on the computer - no ads! I guess I'm in for a disappointment if I turn it on when driving. How is it possible for youtube to desecrate something so beautiful and uplifiting - shame on them.
at 42:24 your hear the jazzy II V I IV VII III I chord progression of e.g. autumn leaves....so romantic with strings and horns ..wagner knew how to create emotions and vibrations, and thats whats life should be about, right? from 43:20 it sounds like a composed orgasm....the same like it is in Tristan and Isoldes Liebestod ...wow
Any way the mid rolling ads could be turned off for adds at the start and finish. This performance is so great that the mid rolling adds really hurt the greatness of the recording 🙏🏻
I had the great opportunity to see Maazel conduct Die Walkure at the Met, as well as Elektra with the New York Philharmonic. Of course, people should not get the idea that the entire Ring consists of these orchestral outbursts! This is one hour of music; the entire Ring is 17 hours, with a lot of tedious stretches.
The magic bullet is Adblock. It's free, it works, YT is simply unwatchable without it. I haven't been tortured by Madison Ave's tripe for years. Regards from Melbourne.
@@groupcaptainlionelmandrake6931 Thanks for the tip. I’ll try the Adblock. Meanwhile I simply bought the DVD of the performance. PS BTW, you’re a good officer, Mandrake, so you’ve got a right to know. Captain Kong has just sent a message from aboard his aircraft: “Fellas, ‘Looks like nu-clear combat toe to toe with the Russkies”. If he’s right, maybe meet you sometime on the beach while we await Gotterdammerung. I
Heartfelt thanks, ma'am, for your kind and honest words. I confess that I wasn't quite expecting Armageddon. It sounds rather serious, heaven forbid it kyboshes the weekend cricket match versus the Army. On a brighter note, kudos to you for a smashing idea -un rendez-vous sur la plage with a pretty filly gets a ding dong and a tally ho from me anytime, what? As it happens, the frolics in the sand between Peck and Gardner in 'On The Beach' were shot a few minutes' walk from my place, a more poetic place for us to enter Valhalla, charred hand in charred hand, cannot be imagined. The champagne's on ice, get here before Putana chucks any more toys out of his cot. Synchronise watches.
Actually, it's great to have this on download. There's little compression (if any), and it has a very high bit-rate. Your ears are unlikely to be able to tell any difference between this and the Telarc, (and it won't have the surface noises that accrue on a vinyl pressing).
