You’re right. The rivalry hasn’t calmed down since the end of the season, it’s intensified. I think many Arsenal fans were so hurt due to missing out on top four that they’re desperate to now say that they’ve ‘won the transfer window’ and players are choosing them over us. The season will speak for itself anyway.
Same I remember at the start of last season it felt like we weren't even a football club and existed for existing sake and probably weren't even gonna get conference league again while so many other clubs like Everton, Villa, Leicester, West Ham and the other big 6 showed so much more ambition leaving us in the dust and we were just gonna have to accept being an average midtable team again
love hearing the respect for winks..hes given us his all and in the right team with game time he can be a great knitter together, rarely losing the ball and keeping everything ticking over. he's been with us all his life and it saddens me to think how it must feel to bullied by our fan base which is exactly what I think it is. I can't stand the hate and ridicule he gets, especially as I don't think that not trying is anything that can be levelled at him. I hope he does fantastically well wherever he goes and the spurs fanbase are left scratching their heads, maybe they will realise he was never the comedy villain that they allowed themselves to believe that he was.

Great stuff as ever Ali. The Lo Celso rumours seem to have gone quiet recently. The original reports of Villareal only willing to pay a little over £20m seem crazy to me for someone who helped them to a Champs league semi final and played a big part in a Copa America win this time last year. Similar value to a Championship wing back with one good year under his belt in fact. Not sure if you agree but I'd be amazed if other clubs didn't come in for him with more money on offer than that?

Another great vid, Ali. Whenever I start to get anxious about this window (which is not very often) I think back to the podcast you did with Guesty after Palace beat us 3-0 last season. I don't think I'd ever felt that flat as a Spurs fan before, and hopefully never will again. Fast forward 9 months and I can't remember being this excited before. It's a funny old game (to quote a Spurs legend).

Gvardiol looks an amazing player-ideal partner for Romero in defence-no nonsense tackling, great distribution and one hell of a tough guy to get past-if he is prepared to leave Leipzig, we should pay what it takes because he going to be a giant of the game. Shame that Eriksen does not seem to be coming-I was wondering where exactly he would have fitted in, to be honest as the midfield is looking fairly well stocked and I'd really hate to see him languishing on the bench-he is much too good for that. I don't get why Spence is supposed to be on sale for around £20m when I have read that his "official" valuation is just over £7m, anyway, I am beginning to get as sick of hearing his name as I did with Traore back in January-it'll all be going on this coming week though-you may have to do Daily shows for us Ally!
Eriksen is needed when we play against team that sit in 2 blocks. that is when you take out one of the front 3 and put him in to pick short over the air passes.

Completely agree on your Brazilian duo take. Much prefer raphinia as a player but just doesn’t really make sense for what we need in the squad. Richarlison would be a good signing.
We've done a couple of decent deals but nothing to get too excited about. We will fail with the pursuit of top quality as we always do. Left the complicated deals too late and won't be able to move enough out the door. Same old spurs.

I understand that (when Spurs were playing one game a week) he didn't get used much, and was seemingly behind Lucas Moura in the pecking order, but with the number of games Spurs will be potentially playing next season, he would likely get a lot more game time. It's not as if Richarlison is being offered a starting berth either, is it?

Ali, you nailed the way the media here in the US handles the NFL, but just imagine whats its like for the US fans to try and sort through the UK media rumors with an expectation that things are reported in the manner we are used to (via NFL). It’s so easy for us fans to say “do this, we should do that” but that’s because we don’t fully comprehend what goes on behind the scenes or the consequences of those decisions taking by the club. I have faith that Tottenham will spend the money wisely I think DL has never really steered the club into choppy water, so with that said here’s to more signings and hopefully a really good improved new season. All we can do is build & I think they have laid a pretty solid foundation this transfer window 3 signings & money to persist. COYS
I wonder if what they’ll do is keep Parrot in the squad until at least the January window give him a chance in some of the early cup games . Although he’s only proven he can play well in division one he’s also been doing pretty well for Ireland and internationals , perhaps it was time he was given a chance .

Love your updates and genuinely look forwards to them every week. I wanted to offer a slightly different perspective on the Raphinha and Richarlison dilemma.... If you swap the players names and attributes for pre-peak Ronaldinhio and R9 Ronaldo and could only pick one to fit into a Conte Spurs squad and surrender the other to Chelsea or Arsenal which would it be.... based on this hypothetical scenario I would say R9/Richarlison. Interested to hear what you and the community think when its thought about in this context? And yes I realise that I am talking about 2 legends here and am not trying to say they are in the same league, I am just using them for skill/ attribute/ playing style comparison

I have observed that you do occasionally look down at your notes which suggests that your speech is unscripted, unless you have a teleprompter of course which I do not think you do. Do you just jot down the main points or simply speak off the cuff?

I've always loved the maturity and and experience you bring when you speak, But you can probably understand we're starting to get frustrated again. We haven't signed Spence over 5 mil... I haven't heard about a bid for Rafinia or Richardson yet. We also haven't heard a whole lot about outgoing players. The window started differently, but now it's looking like Conte might not get wjat he wants because our owners are too cheap.
