0:38 Ok so in this scene you can hear a bunch of voices of bullies and tormentors in his life telling him to shut up. But then you hear Eddie’s voice telling him to shut up. And it’s weird because Eddie was one of the people closest to Richie. I think his voice was included because one of his tormentors was his sexuality. I think that’s why only Eddie’s voice was heard out of all the losers. Because Eddie was the reason Richie had doubted and pushed away his feelings. Alright I’ll stop-
But Eddie's voice is not the only Loser you hear. You can hear Stan as well, whom was Richie's bff. So more than anything, I think after getting the call, Richie's mind was already starting to remember, and since Stan and Eddie were the two most important people in his life, their voices pop up in his head.
“LETS TAKE OUR SHIRTS OFF AND KISS” HOW HAVE I NEVER CAUGHT THAT SENTENCE BEFORE ANSJDHDHDJD NOW IM GONNA BE THINKING ABOUT IT EVERY SINGLE TIME I WATCH THE MOVIE
I know that ur commenting on a horror movie compilation of 2 characters. But what’s more scary than this movie is that you put eddies instead of Eddie’s, and you spelled “allowed” wrong. JK, it was just a joke
Richies actor had to get his stunt double to run a couple feet for him because he pulled a muscle attempting to do it himself,,, so gays are either great or terrible at sports
“Mike” “Mike who?” *The Mike you spent countless hours of your childhood with.* *The Mike you laughed with. The Mike you cried with.* *The Mike that was smart enough to figure out what to shoot Pennywise with.* *THAT MIKE SPAGHETTI MAN*
Hi everyone! So I just wanted to address some of the comments I’ve been getting regarding Reddie/Richie and Eddie. A lot of people have said “they’re just friends” “they’re not gay” “Eddie is straight” etc., as if that means I shouldn’t post a Richie/Eddie video, and I just wanted to talk about that because I’m tired of saying the same stuff repeatedly. In Muschietti’s films, Richie is either bisexual or gay - he is attracted to men. The Muschietti films do not address whether Richie is attracted to women or not, there’s no indication that he is or isn’t. In the book, however, Richie does talk about a woman he had a relationship with but as far as I remember, it was a relationship that was more of a friends with benefits gig than an actual full on relationship. The “girlfriend” jokes in his stand up in Chapter 2 aren’t proof of anything as he openly admits that he doesn’t write his own material - someone else has written it for him to say. In Muschietti’s films, no, there’s nothing saying that Eddie swings any particular way. Yes, he married Myra - but his marriage is clearly not a happy or healthy one; he even admits to himself in the book that he basically married his mother and that’s due to the emotional abuse/molly coddling Sonia put him through as a child. Marrying someone who is basically his mother is safe for him - he knows what to expect, and knows that he will be taken care of like his mother took care of him. There’s no indication that the relationship between Eddie and Myra is healthy or that Eddie is happy with her beyond that feeling of safety. In addition to this, Eddie in the books is extremely gay-coded; when the Leper appears to Eddie in the book, it offers him a blowjob, hinting at an underlying fear of sex and sexuality. In the time the book is set, many sexually transmitted diseases were not particularly well known or researched, and often the blame was placed on gay people for spreading it. You can imagine how a young boy who’s a hypochondriac and germaphobe would feel about homosexuality, something strongly associated with being sick and dying, especially if it was something he was struggling with himself. In the 2017 movie, you can briefly hear Eddie panic as the kids bike to the pharmacy to get supplies for an injured Ben, talking non-stop about his fear of catching AIDs and how he thinks it spreads. There are also, more importantly, parallels between Eddie and Adrian. Adrian is a young gay man who was beaten up by homophobes at the start of the book/IT C2, while out with his boyfriend, before being tossed into the river where he was then killed by Pennywise. Both are men killed by Pennywise, both are also asthmatic/use inhalers, and it’s not a coincidence. In the book, Eddie and Richie have some of the most obvious chemistry. Richie constantly calls Eddie “cute” and “cutie”, pinches his cheek - Eddie is the only person he is this affectionate with. There’s also a moment that seems kind of random where Eddie asks Richie for a “lick of his rocket” (an ice lollipop) that seems to have a double meaning. In the book, when Eddie is killed, Richie is especially heartbroken and goes off on a tangent about how they can’t leave Eddie in the dark - he even kisses Eddie’s cheek before leaving him forever. In Muschietti’s recent films, there’s obviously the moments where Richie and Eddie bicker like an old married couple and crack jokes at each other’s expense, whilst still clearly caring for each other. In both films, you’ll notice that whenever shit is going down, Richie’s first thought is Eddie and making sure Eddie is okay. He’ll go to Eddie’s side, call his name, and when Pennywise is approaching the Losers in the first encounter on Neibolt Street, you can see Richie trying to get Eddie to look at him instead of the clown - most likely because he wants Eddie’s last moments to be of a face who loves and cares for him. Richie is also the one who tells Eddie that he’s braver than he thinks. It’s also important to notice that in that first encounter on Neibolt Street, Pennywise uses Eddie’s image to lure Richie away from Bill and into the room of clowns, knowing that Richie will go after Eddie to make sure he’s safe. As for Eddie, in C2, it’s the sight of Richie caught in the Deadlights that makes him find his courage and throw that spear at Pennywise - it’s not Mike being trapped or any of the other creepy things going on, it’s Richie in trouble. When Eddie dies in IT C2, Richie literally has to be dragged away from Eddie and is kicking/sobbing; he also starts crying in the quarry, clearly absolutely destroyed by the death of someone he loves and has always loved. Finally, Richie carved “R+E” into the kissing bridge TWICE - once as a teenager, then he went over it again as an adult after defeating Pennywise. The actors who have played Richie and Eddie over the years - 1990s and 2017/2019 - have been supportive of the Reddie ship. Bill Hader has said that Richie’s first love was and always has been Eddie. Jack Dylan Grazer said that Reddie is “real”. The actor who played adult Eddie in the 90s miniseries has also said that he and the actor playing adult Richie in the miniseries always made an effort to be close together and do little things to imply the relationship/feelings between them. James Ransone, who plays Eddie in Chapter 2, has said that there’s nothing “vague” about Reddie in the book, it’s very obvious. Stephen King himself has shown support for Reddie, which speaks volumes to me. Finally, a large percentage of the IT fandom ships Reddie and have since the book was published. It’s perhaps one of (if not THE) most popular ship in the fandom. I myself ship Richie/Eddie, and adore the characters as individuals and as a couple too. This video was made for humorous purposes and to try to share my love of the pair with other people. I understand that not everyone ships them and that’s totally fine! I’m just tired of having to reply the same thing over and over about Richie and Eddie/their relationship/sexualities. Also, thank you for all the views/likes/comments! I really appreciate it! :)
So much more can be added but i’ll leave this: chap 1 in the film Pennywise showed to Eddie for the first time with an upside down triangle. Chap 2 they did the same to Richie. The upside down triangle is literally an 80s symbol of gayness. Has been since the Holocaust.
This is a great response to people who are ... let's say a bit close minded but also this helped me a lot bc I don't really know that much about the books or really anything behind the scenes, I just like the movies. Thanks!! :)
"...Bowers is in my room." Gets me every time, especially since I know it was PJ just improving and trying to make Jessica laugh. The comedic timing this man has is 👌👌
Eddie and stan arent dead Stan fell asleep in his bathtub and spilt his koolaid in the tub, but he also missed his flight back to derry so he couldn't make it. Eddie has a rare heart condition which makes his heart to beat out of his chest sometimes and he fell asleep while waiting for the time to pass. It was all a chaotic dream and they wake up in their beds (all the losers) and then decide to meet up with eachother after 27 years. The end. Pennywise is 100% dead
5:18 Imagine Richie's thoughts to just suddenly see Eddie on top of him tho.. You can even tell from his face lmaooo Now that I'm thinking about it, I feel like Richie would've *totally* kissed him if Pennywise stayed down for a long time, allowing them to try and do the ritual again, maybe just end up belittling it anyway, and letting them have a moment JUST THE ONE. I mean, the way he was looking at him.. it really felt like he wanted to.
Am I the only one who had a mental break down when Eddie died..? And the second time I watched it Before I started it I was like “okokok Eddie dies and you know it, don’t cry (:” *me cry’s worse than the first time*
You're not alone. I finally got IT Chapter II on DVD and this was the first time I've seen it. I already knew about the ending and I still bawled my eyes out. I was so mad. HOW COULD THEY GIVE US THE "LETS TAKE OUR SHIRTS OFF AND KISS" PART AND THEN KILL OFF EDDIE? TALK ABOUT MUTINY.
I literally cried hours after seeing IT 2 when eds died and ricchie was so emotional and carving R+E on the kissing bridge ... I had to stop my tears by consoling myself that ,it is just a movie , all of them are okay ... But then again I would think but even in the movie he died and their love story remained incomplete then again cry for hours ..... And loved the video , will be waiting for more ❤️
