He's the reason I picked up a guitar in 1992!!! He's a COMPLETE musician and not just a flavor of the week pop/rock star. Yes, he became famous with Bon Jovi, but he really showed what he was made of as a complete musician with Stranger in this Town in 1991, which in my humble opinion, is one of the best rock/blues album of all time! And with regard to Bon Jovi, Bon Jovi needs Richie, not the other way around. Richie said one (of many) reasons he left BJ was bc Jon was trying to turn Bon Jovi into a BRAND instead of just keeping it as a good American rock n roll band. Not to mention, he's also expressed it would take A LOT of money to rejoin BJ, bc he's sick and tired of dealing with Jon's ego and always wanting everything to be about him.
No one can imitate Richie Sambora. lol The energetic sound that Richie produces comes from his soul. And his voice is unique. Love Richie so much. God bless him with good health and protection.
So one way to write a melody is to take the starting part from some other source, and then build on that line logically, and then continue to build on it, till you reach 60 lines. Now of course it would be a difficult job to memorize those 60 lines and deliver them on stage, but that is were the hard slog comes in
Another lenghty song, probably 50-60 lines. I guess, the problem is of finding the optimal number of lines/stanzas and the ability to remember them when performing on stage
So the reason Richie left the band was so that he could explore his songwriting and singing talents and not just play the guitar. Perfectly rational decision.
