According to the United States Postal Service (USPS) Office of the Inspector General, Virginia is the fourth-worst region in the U.S. for on-time mail delivery by the agency.
The agency's latest Service Performance report shows that 78.1% of parcels in Virginia were delivered on time during the second quarter of 2024, trailing behind Georgia with 40.2%, Wisconsin with 70.5% and the joint region of Alabama and Mississippi with 72.8%.
This is a slight improvement for Virginia, where just 77% of packages were delivered by USPS on time during the previous quarter and 66% the quarter before that. Despite the measured improvement, Richmond-area resident Amy Campbell said she is still having problems.
