@@Dat-Mudkip back when he only did trucks he was one of my favorite commentators. He sounded really good calling the truck races but now its almost like he tries too hard.
I almost feel bad for Rick Allen at this point. It’s kind of sad. The guy would scream about the grass growing, and can’t remember names and numbers like crazy. I’d rather have Brad Daugherty leading the NBC broadcast

I can't even understand who decided to put this booth together. I thought announcers were supposed to have voices that were actually nice to listen to, I know Rick's kinda goofy but for that one I mostly point to Jeff Burton. who decided that was a good voice to hear for 3½ hours?
Rick Allen is reading a teleprompter and someone was having typos. Rick Allen is the least genuine caster I've ever heard. His voice betrays him when he talks about NASCAR, any enthusiasm or interest sounds fake. His last lap commentary is stuff of legend, the horrible legends. It's god awful commentary and focuses on the American Idol storyline rather than the race. Every race he says multiple times "Chase Briscoe said that 8 wins is what he needed this season!" Every damn time.
Rick has had many slip ups, and fine, lots of commentators do. But he's made many mistakes and said things that just don't make sense for years. He often says things that are incorrect too and its frustrating to listen to. I wouldn't mind a replacement, just nobody with an Australian accent. I never understood why American sportscar racing and the one or two Xfinity stock car races had an Australian guy.
