Lazzo doesn't get enough credit for knowing his shit. Adult Swim as a production studio has always tried to raise the bar on animation, and Rick and Morty is just another product of that, like The Boondocks before it and Space Ghost before that. Seriously, hats off to Adult Swim for knowing Damn good ideas when they see em.

3:53 he’s right, they really don’t get old. I get bored of shows quick and usually don’t even finish most but I’ve rewatched Rick and Morty twice and sometimes just watch random episodes. I love how it can be really funny and serious at the same time in certain episodes.

Thank you so much Mike Lazzo. He made sure Morty went from being a character designed purely to contrast Rick to being a properly established character. We might not have gotten this current characterisation of Morty in the show if not for Mike Lazzo.

Yeah but YPFIGTH is like a comedic take on the fires of hell and sadomasochism, so punching bag "works" for that show, it's basically the entirety of it's concept ...yet I'd still agree that Lazzo's probably not the biggest fan, seeing as I don't like it either for that exact reason. Lol..I mean there's very-little-to-no conflict in that show, which he was trying to avoid in R&M

I don't know. Going to Hell kinda works for me strictly off of how it riffs on Office life by taking the power your boss has over you to its eventual extreme. I think of it like Office Space if the main character was never hypnotized.

Also it mainly links back to Morty's voice, which is also sounds like most of the shows voices. Morty shouldn't be the defining factor, if you're complaining about those messing with it, you shouldn't watch it. A load of characters are like Morty just he happens to be forefronted

thanks lazzo the best moments of the show is when morty is the punching bag and lets rick shit on him, but also when morty stands up for himself it creates such a good dynamic, and i dont think either one of those qualities would be that good on their own

reading back on what i wrote, yeah it sounds kinda edgy. i do mean it though, every show i've watched had a really good fandom for about two weeks -- after that, it started to cave inwards. Steven Universe, Rick and Morty, I'm even starting to see it in OK K.O.. it just happens.

It always happens when things get too big. People start shitting in the water hole. Happened with WoW, happened with Star Trek/Star Wars, Happened with Avatar (LoK was trash after Season 1 fight me). Props to Mike Lazzo for his good input because I've grown to love Morty more and more with each episode. There's definitely a character development process happening as the shows continues to go because you can see how Morty becomes more comfortable with Rick

There's a lot of teens that killed themselves and couldn't see this master piece. I just can't fathom that thought. These changes your outlook on the world and dudes were for some reason so fucked up by their girlfriend or exes they killed themselves. Lived their entire lives to destroy it. Went through the hardest game in existence and deleted his account over one girl. And couldn't see Rick and Morty and just smoked a bowl.
