it IS way detuned. the secret is in the muffling, front head, shell composition,mic combinations, and rick's technique. he smacks the shizzle out of his kick. and for juddgreg333: it is a shame that you would let the style choices of a master drummer limit your learning. you will see very few drummers doing so much with so little effort.
