He’s the best looking man I have ever seen. Nobody has ever looked better to me. He’s the standard by which I measured every other man & no one ever matched him
At 1:08 I love how he smiles proudly when she says: "...and Rick Nelson" :) He was always so modest about himself.. That's one of his qualities I admire most !
Yes, he almost looks like a mannequin. Seriously, if he stood still in Sears, a clerk would start to change him for the next sale! Unreal. I even think he was better looking than Presley, at least technically. Not quite the same charisma, perhaps, but, man, hot damn! Also, he was hilarious as a kid! ("I don't mess around, boy!").
Elvis Presley was hot looking for sure, yet, he was a glorified phuckboi, couldn't control himself to keep it in his pants. Rick Nelson was a more courteous person who had the same opportunities with women as Elvis did, Rick may have taken one or two, I don't know. Elvis was a notorius womanizer.
Ricky was my mother Judy's Favorite of all. She adored Him as did so many. Yes, He was a combo of it all. Thank You Rick for dedicating your life to the World.
Rick was and is mom's favorite singer. I really have grown to like Rick. He really is humble and shy. And I like that. He has a lot of wonderful songs. He is right up there with Elvis and Dean Martin in my book.
Although I love a lot about todays music, fashions, etc. The way most (not all) people who were celebrities were very clean cut. Their clothing was clean, pressed, they didn't have heavy makeup, their hair looked nice. The best part? Rick Nelson was polite, respectful. He didn't use profanity or overt sexual speech. Those qualities are absent in todays people. Most common citizens as well as celebrities.
I knew that if I came on youtube today I'd see another great video on your channel :) Thank you so much for sharing these rare interviews (and everyting else)!
Like many others grew loving Ricky, Everlys, Elvis jerrry Lee etc never got to see him but what strikes me is how naturally shy he comes over. Obviousl a well brought up young man maturing into a rounded adult, quietly spoken without all the "look at me". Arent I great attitude that seems to prevail with todays "stars" Sad demise when on his way back to well deserved stardom
I just noticed that is Lucie Arnez. Ricky was such a likable person and a fabulous singer !! I luv The Ozzie And Harriet Show. Blessings from California. 🦜
My older friend said in 1980 when I was eighteen come on let’s go see Ricky Nelson. I said who? She said you don’t know Ricky Nelson? I said no. I went and this 40 year old man who looks barely twenty one. Was singing to a sea of forty year old women who had a few kids and most assuredly did not look twenty and me. We took him for steaks I mean in Oklahoma that’s what you do and I have never met anyone with any better manners and he did not let success go to his head. You could see his parents raised him right! Ricky Nelson appreciates women so I wasn’t surprised they pulled his dead body off his girlfriend. He was trying to shield her. That doesn’t surprise me at all. I loved Ricky. He was a good man.
Stumbled upon this video for Rick Nelson and see Petula Clark there too. Is there any chance you can post her interview too? She was also a favorite.. I know it has been a long time since you posted this, but I hope you can. I remember watching Dinah after school.
I really enjoyed this he was actually thinking oh! They’re calling me Mr. Nelson and he really liked it and when he gets back home at age 16 he figures he doesn’t have to put away his clothes Glad his parents kept him grounded or he wouldn’t have been level headed but a pain in the rear to everyone!! That’s why we have always made sure our kids grew up right or else! Seems like some parents today don’t try to correct their kids as they should I am still doing it when I see a kid doing wrong I try to correct them but if the parents are nuts not much a person can do!
Yes, tell me about it. And gotta hate daytime TV in 2012. But then again, it isn't only that there are not many of the great talk hosts (Dinah, Carson, Merv, Mike Douglas, Jack Paar, Tom Snyder) still alive, but also not as many great entertainers and authors as in the past; no more Lucille Ball, Jack Benny, Bette Davis, Katharine Hepburn, Bob Hope, Jimmy Stewart, etc.
Talk shows may only be as good and interesting as the guests on them. And we have become a culture that reads less, and has less compelling actors and musicians, or at least the ones still alive have already done their best work. Actually, Petula and "Little Lucie" are both still alive. But what talk show would book them nowadays?
