My children were required to cut our acreage by push mower 1st then they graduated to riding mower only after they could PROPERLY cut at least 1/2 acre on foot. It built a real steady work ethic and appreciation for time and a material things. My son then later started his own lawn business and saved enough over 4yrs to buy a small NEW car outright. He could never understand why people complained about cutting their small/mini sized yards. He would breeze through the work. I personally love cutting my own yard. The hummm of the mower, the sun on my face and feeling instant gratification from completing the task. Its free therapy.
