@@RobMarkmanyea, everyday, I gotta check if you dropped. This is my demo. Age appropriate for me. No yelling, no screaming, no gossip, just hip-hop and bars.
ive been coming to the platform for all these diss brakedowns as well. Best bar by bar breakdowns and it for sure helps w your deep knowledge of hip hop! Love🫡
I am really enjoying your feedback and breakdowns. I like how I feel like you're talking to me, not at me. I am grateful that you started this format. It feels very organic. Thank you again.
The Pullitzer line is basically saying that Drake's actions and sneak dissing over the years turned Kendrick from the conscience rapper back into a killer that now wants violence when aiming at Drake
Breakdown on point. For me, the turnaround was everything. Perfect intermission for the main event. Hella props to Rosé for keeping it fun and keeping us fed. Sat was lit
I really appreciate your commitment to discussing everything. You’ve always been a great interviewer on complex n can always tell you’re passionate about this sport! Real legend 💯
Let's be clear drake dissed ross Because he unfollowed him 7:58 edit ross is saying the people on ovo artists failing so his label is losing money. And he saying trying to chart is the same employee mindset from the young money days
@@Donn_G I’m talking about Pnd. You said he was that guy…I said until he wasn’t. He kept giving poor live performances and his stock went down. I saw him live and it was honestly one of the worst performances I ever saw.
When K dot drops I feel like it's going to be more impactful just because we rarely hear from him outside of an album cycle, not to mention battle bars??! I can't wait! Love from Houston Rob 🫡
I’m so happy blog era is back in full swing. Hoping you keep doing these videos and break downs, keeps it exciting for people like me that dive way too deep lol
The Pulizter comment was not him going at Kendrick. He meant he made Kendrick switch from the Pulizter award winning consious rapper artist back to the Compton Gangsta artist. He is implying Drake always fucks up relationships and makes people want to go at him. Like your analysis.
Rob you are dope! I’m so glad you are doing this all yourself, you aint under no company! You will be able to feed your family from these videos forever with ad revenue. Keep the videos coming!!
from you mouth to God's ears. It'll be great to create a real revenue stream from these videos. But right now, gotta put in the work, and love the process of putting in the work, which I do. I appreciate your support.
It's easier to do the click bait stuff, I know what gets clicks, BUT I just dont enjoy doing that type of stuff. So im glad you can see the difference and appreciate what Im aiming for. Salute
Yo mark i just heard the jumbotron reference track and honestly it feels like further proof that aubrey ain't been writing his own shit for a cool minute.
@@RobMarkman I’ll stick around if you keep doing music breakdowns You have a wealth of knowledge, been in the industry, and I’ve enjoyed your interviews in the past. You’re a credible source and your breakdowns are objective. I think beyond this beef, having content where you continue to break down songs. Perhaps even a deep dive of old rap beefs with song breakdowns would be cool content
I’ve been watching a few videos (approx 5 videos). And, if I find myself liking the content and the content creator to be authentic along with a consistent program, I subscribe. I subscribed to this channel. Keep it up bro. Do your thang
It's perfect timing that you started posting these video around the same time these rap battles popped off - It's perfect to grow the channel! Loving the commentary Rob, keep it coming! I'm over the ghostwriter jabs at Drake tbh, it's becoming an overplayed hand : any time Drake has a bar they don't like it's him, right? But every time he delivers a bar they enjoy, conveniently it's: "Drake's ghostwriters working overtime". 😅
Yeah, the truth is, it's hard to tell who wrote what. But it's hard not to speculate. Did you hear the Jumbotron Shit Poppin, reference that leaked last night?
@@RobMarkman Yes I just heard it an hour ago...official co-writers are ghosts now? I just feel like people misunderstand the industry expecting artists to write every word of every song. As someone who worked in music publishing I just never felt that way. Definitely something to discuss in your next video though! I'm starting to wonder if 'leak culture' is the new normal in rap battles?
@@RobMarkman your measured approach to the discourse is always appreciated. The topic of rappers and writers seems to be sooo controversial. All these online fans seem to have a zero tolerance policy for it [even though a lot of their favs worked with writers or used reference tracks]. If Someone writes a song for Drake or Kanye, does it discredit their artistry?
These subs ain’t climbing fast enough!! 10/10 work from a different angle - the hype is in the details, not the expressions and thumbnails etc… keep it up!!
much love for the content, it’s some of the best during this new normal i think the pulitzer prize line is literally just rozay saying “kendrick switched up on you drake, you got no friends” kinda shit. doesnt seem like a diss on kendrick to me
The depth of this video was great for such a short song! Factoring in the IG vids from Ross with genius. Because it's interesting how are rap battles factor in so much more than music these days. It's chess match with many variables from the Cole apology, phone call leaks, IG vids and jokes. Great job Rob! I'm starting to think Cole's apology wasn't as bad as I thought. He got himself out of a crazy mess.
Pulitzer prize winners - he’s saying drake is good at telling lies and making up stories about his life. Similar to if someone jokes that someone deserves an oscar fo their exaggeration or dramatic expressions.
Ross also has a song called The Pulitzer. So he could be talking about himself. How would you interpret it then? I like dissecting bars and listening to rap not fanning out on drake lol
@@RobMarkman welcome bro 💪🏾..and yeah I was just wondering cause on his latest freestyle he mentioned the big 3 & he’s dope enough to enter the convo. But yeeeeah I can’t wait for that album!
I think it still put Drake up because his response was toward everybody. Still decent bars although not lethal. But he ain't up by a lot. Easy work for Kdot. I agree with @RobMarkman, its a buildup and we'll somethin harder later down the road.
@@20thLetter kinda irrelevant if anything his best bars were for everyone else... Going against everyone just gives him more to talk about which isnt really a disadvantage.. because if he was just responding to kendrick there really aint much there Add to it the fact that theres a reason all these people dont fuck with you... Which is another measurement in a battle that yall dont gauge who is actually right... That lil yellow boy been running around doing way to much with his corny ass And what exactly was he gonna do K. Dot verse made so much noise its everywhere how does he not respond Its not enough for what hes facing And what hes facing he brought upon himself... Do you get points for standing in front of the judge and jury When You dont have a choice Ill give him credit if he wins But he cant because hes guilty on all charges of being a fuck boy
Ross took a little of that momentum that Drake had yesterday. Drakes diss was good, but all that was overshadowed by how disrespectful Ross got on his shit lol.
Do you think Kendrick will drop his diss in form of a Heart Part 6 and potentially be apart of his roll out for a new album? Or maybe seperate entirely? Loving your break downs 🐐🏆❤️ keep on coming and blessing our ears 🙏🏾🎵
I think the rollout for the drake track was on some old school 2000’s shit when you trying to find the leak on lime wire and not sure if it’s real and keep finding the wrong version. Even the whoo kid intro was old school. I think that rollout was on purpose
Pretty sure he’s talking about OVO. “You a worker wanting to chart”. He’s saying Drake would rather be the best worker(biggest artist) the best label head feeding into the common criticism that Drake doesn’t help his own artists..
@@RobMarkmantrue Kendrick started it but we have to wait for Kendrick responds before we start allocating w’s ..but thanks for the response , I appreciate
I feel like a lot of drake fans will put him up and throw out that point because yeah he had a whole song but he was dissing multiple people so the full focus wasn't on Kendrick. With that said though I do think Kendrick gets under his skin the most considering the majority of the track is aimed at him and I think Drake also recognizes that that's what people want him to do
For example most people would give Gary Owens or Eminem a black pass before Drake in real life if none of them were famous he seems like he is learning as he goes along how to "act" black🧐
@@I8THESHROOMS yeah that's the whole motif behind the nose job statement. It's to say that Drake doesn't like his black side so he got surgery to make himself look more white
You , Joe , sway , Big Boy from LA & hate to say it but AK & Greg street need to form the Commission of Hip Hop hop & give official ratings etc like the NBA Players union.. but for now you doing amazing Brodie good job
3:55 as a hip hop head, any rapper that had ghostwriter must never get the benefit of the doubt. We must always assume that there were ghostwriters. THIS IS HIP HOP, let's keep it that
Rob, I just think Ross should've put that French Montana in Lyrical form along with the rest of the things he was talking at the end...I like the track(music) better then all the songs in the battle so far..but Drake still up but I like Ross better..like u said I'm a huge Ross fan...We waiting on DOT to fire back....Keep up channel Rob...we here for you...
i remember seeing you in sweet chicks like years ago maybe 2018 i was with a girl we walked in there i peeped you just chillin dolo i was like i know that guy lol ain’t bother you tho . this channel dope keep doing ya thing
now that you mention it that’s highly possible it was def in may that year duppy definitely came out around that time lol i’m from philly just happened to be up there that day
@@nahshon14 Yeah that was the day, because Im not in sweet chick often and I remember I was waiting for a friend, and Duppy dropped while i was waiting lol
I keep hearing people excusing drakes false street bravado because they never believed it. If he is portraying it, it’s points to call out the falsehoods.
I think the ghostwriter thing goes beyond Quentin Miller. King Kunta on TPAB was before R.I.C.O. and Energy and Kendrick said "I swore I wouldn't tell" following the "rapper with a ghostwriter" lines.
I appreciate you addressing the ghost writer issue regarding Drake because to me, this whole war hinges on this ie. We don’t trust you. This is a case of a clash of values between hip hop and rap because they aren’t the same. AND I like Drake. Love Kendrick 👑 though
0:52 Movie was aight. It was fine Bruh, we thought Drake had a lot to handle in his diss, but now Rob is a movie reviewer too? Damn, we love the versatility.
