I so admire Rick Rule, and for several reasons. First, his honesty. You know where he stands because he's quick to let you know. Second, his intellect in forming his rationales. Third, his carefully crafted articulation in pointing out and explaining those rationales. Fourth, his incredible wealth of knowledge, both academic and experiential. Fifth, his consistency. All of these components of honesty make him highly credible and respected, not to mention someone all of us should listen to carefully. Excellent interview!

Yes it true commodities are sky rocketing, lumber has tripled in cost last six months. Even the strawberry cream pies at McDonald's used to be two for $1. Strawberry cream pies are now two for $3.18. There is still shortages of availability on numerous items.

At the same time, humankind lives on copper mines that were discovered 30 and 40 years ago.” The mining industry has limited options to increase supply in the future, while demand for copper is going to continue to grow, Rule noted in an interview with Michelle Makori. “The big thinkers of the world seem to think that you can stand on top of a copper mine, throw in water and fertilizer and grow more copper. But that’s not how it works. Everyday you mine and your business gets smaller. To permit a big copper mine in the United States could take 15 to 20 years. To finance it, put it into production. Very, very capital intensive, very time intensive. We’ve run out of time and the reckoning is coming,” he said. 5 minute mark

When Rick Rule explained how demand will overwhelm supply ,he was actually talking about our needs for natural resources exceeding the Earths capacity to provide. This laid down a foundation for aninteresting conversation of the societal impact implicit in that observation, however, instead Michelle wants to ask how this is an ipportunity for investors? Surely, how an investor can in the short term monetise this crisis is less relevant to the long-term impact of humanity and our current civilisation?

Its kept up so far from 1. Supply from gold, copper, lead, and zinc mines. 2. Government stockpiles left over from when silver was used in coinage. 3. Drop in demand from the end of film photography. Gov stockpiles have greatly declined, and industrial demand appears to be increasing. Current mined supply appears insufficient to meet predicted demand.

Real inquiry- watching how much work goes into mining stuff like gold- for such little particles of flakes, or copper, it looks like to my eyes that the work required to dig out and and refine old electronics etc would yield huge yields for a lot less work 🤔🤷🏻‍♂️
