@@bricksquad9552not really, he plays golf multiple times a week for years, he gets lessons from grant and Garrett for free everytime he’s out there. If you did that you’d get better too.
I agree with that especially how Garrett on a good day could beat anyone when he’s playing top notch knowone is stopping him he’s consistently up and down no matter how bad he could hit he’s tee shot he’s making birdie somehow
Steve, although very inconsistent, could likely sneak a round in the 70s once in every 10 rounds. I'd probably say 5 is a pretty generous standing. I would say he's more like 8-10.
He typically has a blow up hole or sends one OB. Also fluffs his ball on every lie. Regardless of all that he hasn’t done it on the channel yet in a major or any other stroke play for 18.
Obviously he doesn’t want to say anything controversial so he played it safe. My guesses would be 1. Micah +4 handicap 2. Grant (tied) +2 handicap 2. Garrett (tied) + 2 handicap 4. Matt 5 handicap 5. Bubbie 7 handicap 6. Steve 10 handicap
If bubbie could have faith in himself for all 18 holes he would be a 5-6 hcp Cuz he plays some super tough courses and scores right Around 80 so if the course rating is 74 I’d say he is a 5-6 his better/ best days
@@WhopperJr91 volatility is actually good in sports. If you average out the strokes for a season I’m pretty sure Grant and Micah will win nearly every time. Especially Grant. But that’s not how the game is played. Essentially it doesn’t matter how much you lose by. Only that you win more than you lose. In that way season long series favor someone like Garret who can go further under as opposed to someone like Grant who’s less likely to blow up. I’d throw out Micah last year though, he was going through a swing change after declaring pro that had him all out of sorts. And Garret made MASSIVE improvements after playing so much golf and getting stronger to limit the length advantage.
When I was a younger Golf Pro in 1995, I was practicing for some upcoming mini-tour events. The head Pro at the Club where I was practicing put me off the 1st tee with 7 high school kids. We played an 8-some. 5 of the 7 kids shot in the 60s.... 2 shot less than 74, and every one of them beat me.... I was blown away... Later in life 1 of those kids played on the PGA Tour. Another 1 was the Arizona individual State Golf Champion, back to back. Another 1 of them qualified for and played in the US Open. Yet another was the best putter I have ever known, in a league with players like Kite and Payne Stewart. I had success of my own but never made the big tour. 1 of the kids died soon after falling asleep at the wheel, driving from one tournament to the next. BTW, The Golf Pro at the time who paired me with these kids , was one of only 2 golfers to walk onto the ASU Golf Team and play varsity. He also tied with Kite Stewart in the World Putting Championship and The otherdude ? Phil Mickelson... Lol
Yea they are closer to a 8-10. No hate I’m a 12 hdcp but only play maybe 22 rounds a year. Matt i can never tell. Sometimes he looks great. Other times I would gladly play him in match play
Steve is way worse than that😂 5 handicap would mean on average he would shoot +5. Through 18 holes I’ve never seen Steve in + single digits I don’t think. He’s probably a 12 handicap. Bubbie and Matt are probably 4-5
When Micah is on, he’s by far the best with the ability to hit the furthest with accuracy. Grant is so consistent that you have to be on your game to beat him. He’s not the longest or the most technical, but he’s the best all around in the group. Garrett is good at being clutch with his wedges and hangs around long enough to take advantage. Some days he just runs away with it tho when he’s firing from all cylinders. Bubbie is the most improved in the group to the point where he is really starting to look like he is getting ready to give the upper tier a run for their money if he turned it up another notch. Steven is great the first 9 holes and then becomes uninterested lol. If he played with the same mindset all round, he’s pretty good. Matt hit a hole in 1 on a par 4
Garret is a different beast man.... phenominal swing. My favorite swing besides Fred Couples and that us saying a lot... his short game is out of this world. Very consistent guy that doesn't get enough credit for his game.
He literally just needs to improve his putting and he’s looking at a possible 65 or better. He’s got every other shot in his arsenal. He’s my favorite good good member to watch.
@@doodiebean4870 that’s when he’s shooting under par. I don’t know why more of the fans talk about Garrett being the one to hang around Luke Kwon in the good good cup major. He shot like 3 or 4 under and almost beat a pro.
Grant is definitely the most consistent, but I think Micah overall has the widest skill set and the highest ceiling as Rick says. But Grant’s consistency will win him 4/7 matches with Micah every time.
They all probably have handicaps they’re just not updated at all, only one who would have an updated official handicap would be Micah because he’s played in some pro events over the last year. Everyone else’s would be from like college
hole in ones arent "lucky" shots obv.. but like... you know, its all about how many fairways/greens you can hit consistantly for a good score. Matt would beat any casual golfer 1v1, but Garrett Grant and Micah are just years ahead of him skill-wise
I think Garret and Micah have the most raw talent. Grant is just a phenomenally consistent player, he's super close to the above two in talent as well. Matt shows elements of greatness as well. Bubbie can hit amazing shots, but it inconsistent, and is just a great guy to be around. Steve is like a slightly better version of the rest of us, but is hilarious to watch and I'm always pulling for him.
I find it very interesting to see a few weeks ago Rick saying he could beat all of good good outside of micah in a match, and him and micah would probably be 50-50. I think Rick got a big wake up call when he actually played with the boys for a week; and I hope it pushes him to improve his game.
I don’t see why everyone thinks Micah is far beyond everyone else in that group. I think Garret beats him 7/10 times. Grant is far more consistent than Micah. And I think Bubbie just beat Micah in a 1v1.
Because we only really see them goofing off on camera. Micah has the most tour like game. I agree that he's not maybe MILES above grant and garrett, but the way I look at it, Grant is the closest to Micah because of his irons, but Grant loses in the long run due to par 5's. Garrett just doesn't have the consistency, even though he has sneak skill and can pull off ridiculous shots from time to time.
Agreed. While he’s the longest and best ball striker I’d argue Garrett and grant both have better short game and are both better putters. I’ve watched almost every good good video over the last year and tig rarely sinks long putts where Garrett and grant do it pretty frequently
At peak Micah, Garrett, grant. On any given day grant, garret, Micah is how I see it. The thing that separates garret is his insane recovery ability that no one else in good good has. That’s why I think he’s the best
Garrett is 2 rounds up on Grant over many Saturday matches. Sort of kills the Grant is the most consistent...Hole to hole he is but Garrett is better. With a week to train, my money would he on Garrett over all of them. His mental game is so strong as well.
A handicap is not based on your average round, it’s based on your potential best. The truth is, tour events are not usually won by the most consistent golfer, they are won by the most dangerous golfer who is able to take it very low when they get hot. It terms of who has the greatest ability to shoot very low…. my controversial take is that I think it’s Garrett. He drives the ball 340+ when hot, and has the best short game and shot making abilities. His only weakness is that he stabs at his putts. Micah is great all around, but I think Garrett has the x-factor. Hopefully next year, they actually keep scores and see who is actually the best. Sounds like they are putting together a tour of sorts.
Respectfully disagree. In match play, Garrett is a killer, no doubt, but over the course of a round I find that he's slightly more prone to blowup holes than Tig and Grant. Tig has the most potential to go low. If he's hitting fairways then he's super dangerous.
Steve has potential to be a great golfer as much as the rest of Good Good but I also at times get the feeling that Steve isn’t 100% focused in every game they play… but when he puts the focus in he can definitely hang with the rest of the GG boys.. agree with Ricks assessment of the other boys! Just had to defend my boi STEEEEEVE
Bubbie struggles to shoot 85. Matt also averages around 80-83. Garrett can go low but it’s not often. 1 time out of 20 he goes low. Most of the time he’s mid 70s so he’s closer to around a 2-3 handicap. Definitely not a plus handicap. Grant and micah are the best for sure. Steve is around 10 I’d say
Way off. Based on what I saw in the good good video's, Bubbie is like a 12, Steve is like a 15, Matt is like a 10, Tig, Grant, Garret all scratch to 2 and Rick who pretty much got smoked by all of them in the 1v1 series is like a 10
Grant and Micah are super close, giving the slight edge to Micah bc he hits it so far so if he gets a little more consistency in all aspects of his game he could really be on the tour
Yea I give grant the mental edge tig drinks to much coffee and loses the mental side of things and he gets to tough on himself and forgets to enjoy the round. But they are pretty much tied rn + or - 1 stroke and garret is for sure ranked 3rd in my book. He’s not the best off the tee and tends not to hit a lot of fairways, tries to do to much in my opinion
Idk man I’ve seen a lot of good good vids and I’d say micah grant and garret all have the potential to shoot anywhere from 5 under to 5 over so I’d put them at an even scratch handicap the rest of the boys probably hover around a 10 handicap … this is playing 100% legit no lift clean place in fairways or fluffing lies granted they play alot of tougher courses that most of us can’t compare our local munis to
Garrett is the most talented in my opinion. When he is on he is the best. His only thing to work on is consistency. His short game is on par with Pros.
@@akvisions5935 Definitely, the consistency and accuracy is night and day between them. Someone like Grant will beat someone like Matt almost every single time over 18.
I wonder how Rick became a a Yip machine with his putter, with his Sand shots, with his chip shots, and his pitch shots since he was just like Garrett when he was young!... this guy should be in Disneyland cuz he lived in a fantasy world that he is a skilled golfer! Post his last 20 scores to Ghin and you will Laugh Your Butt Off when he does a break 75 challenge!! He might as well be doing a "break 55"challenge! He has the same chance in both contests...lol
Would be good to know where Rick is right now as a reference, but I'd agree with Micah, Grant and Garrett being plus handicappers. Steve is more like 10 though, Bubbie like 7 and Matt being 4 sounds about right. Matt did play particularly poorly in the UK, usually a lot better than that
Opinion: I personally don't think that Tig is a better golfer than Grant. He and Garrett might have a higher ceiling and the ability to go very low on a single round, but anything more than one round of golf and Grants consistency and lack of mistakes takes the cake.
Think Garrett is the most talented member of good good, as he has that little bit of magic, especially in his short game. If he focused and didn't try to play trick shots all the time he would be on another level. They all could improve their putting too.
No. He's low single digits. It's not an average, and your worst scores are tossed out. Look up how handicaps work. I'm a 1.8 hdcp. I don't shoot 74 every round. I average 76-77. But, I've shot a couple of 70s and 71s this season. I've also shot 80 a couple of times. Rick can do very similarly.
