Early STRAWBS goodness from an excellent (as the English say: sound desk) recording of the STRAWBS Epic Concert at the Lyceum July 1970.

Perhaps some live recordings that are overall superior and engaging but aren't quite "letter-perfect" get passed over for an album - My theory is unfortunately record companies have been more keen to please "music critics" than loyal fans.

This was recorded at the Lyceum. Just A Collection was recorded at the Queen Elizabeth Hall. They are very similar but there are some slight differences. This recording seems more confident and controlled and without the duff note that appears when he plays the slow bit before the silent movie "chase". Listen to them both and you'll hear what I mean. Rick is my keyboard hero, too...to think he was just 21 when he played this!
