The Model 660 and 660/12 feature a charactered maple cutaway body based on an innovative design from the 1950s. Triangular pearloid inlay markers punctuate the glossy fingerboard beautifully, while the maple double bound neck and body are solid through and through. Rickenbacker's trademark "checkered" black and white binding set off the body, while white binding graces the neck. The 660 is electronically engineered to the exacting standards of the vintage reissue series, complete with Rickenbacker's own Vintage Single-Coil Toaster Top pickups.

I have the 660-12 FG and 660-6 MG Those thing stay in tune sitting in the case for weeks. I also have a 1996 plus/12 JG which I love also.. If I could only have one I'd go with the 660/12 but luckily I didn't have to.... I have 5.

Rics are awesome, had a 06 mapleglo 360 that I sold to get discontinued black 370 after seeing Johnny Marrs in a pic! Got obsessed lol. Also have a fireglo 08 4003 bass! Scott Pilgrim vibes. I’m debating a 660/12 Any issues with truss rod? My tech says tension on any 12 eventually a factor but Ric has two truss rods so🤷🏼‍♂️

⁠@@billydelacruz1500I have two almost sixty year old Rick 12 strings. Truss rod is not the issue. The whole neck can rotate (pitch) at the join with the body. This happened on one (1965), but it is still very playable. The bridge is lowered and one row of grommets has been removed from bridge PU. The truss rod (double) still works well & can be removed & replaced if necessary. The slightly younger (1966) is fine. An early 70s 360-6 is also good. I have seen a number of old 12s and 6s that are unplayable because of the whole neck pitching upwards. The signs are removal of the bridge base plate and all foam or grommets from bridge pickup. If that happens, the neck needs to be reset.
