id say The Office is number one, Trailer Park Boys a close second. Michael Scott is literally the most geniusly crafted and written moron to ever exist on TV
The first time I saw TPB was the Space Rocket episode. I was appalled that anything so utterly moronic could ever get on TV. Then I said well I'll give it another try...
I can verify Ricky's take on a Helix concert. I was whacked on magic mushrooms at a show Helix did at Massey Hall in Toronto 1990....It was a really fucking good show!!
Nobody put out more albums than Anvil! They're getting close to thirty.... Helix is a close second! April Wine ... Honeymoon Suite... Loverboy...... The Guess Who..... Voivod Rules The Great White Northern Wastelands!🇨🇦🦇🇨🇦
My favourite TBP story. A local church needed money to repair its steeple. Drove by one day and saw on a portable sign out front: TPB fundraising show at the Bayshore arena. I said to myself, "I gotta see this." Wife and I bought tickets and were sitting about half way back. All these old couples, in their 70s, 80s, and 90s, coming in thinking it is an ordinary church fundraiser. They are dressed to the 9s in their Sunday best. An old couple is right in front of us. The old lady is seriously concerned. First sketch is Bubbles and Lahey on a motorcycle. Bubbles is discussing his new product invention. Fragrance rectal inserts. When you fart you get a perfumed scent along with the usual methane. It goes downhill, by the church going elderly peoples' perspective, from there. The old lady turns to her husband, "Are you ready to leave yet?" They didn't last long. Refreshments were at the back of the arena. During intermission, I was leaning against the hockey boards and I see this couple coming from the VIP tables set up by the front of the stage. An elderly lady passes by me first having the sternest, angriest look on I've ever seen. The old man looks like he has taken a few verbal beatings is behind. He sees my face, gives me an OK sign with his hand, great big smile and winks, until his wife glances back. His face returns to its serious look.
Mike Clattenburg is the creator and basically 1 of the "REAL" Trailer park Boys. I fucking love this show....it's a shame that John Dunsworth, or "Mr. Lahey " passed away...incredible actor. I really do enjoy these guys, the movie's are awesome too. Nice job on the clip.
I remember my European father that doesn't speak English too well watching the beginning of that Helix video thinking it was a movie. Then the music kicked in and he was like - This ain't a movie! He also watched the Trailer Park Boys. One day he was watching the episode where they disguise the hashish as a driveway.I told him what they were up to and he said - No vay!
HAHA 😂 I Have seen both in concert once. Helix in 1984 opening for WASP & Krokus at Long Beach and Rush at the Fabulous Forum in Inglewood if I remember right in 96 maybe for the Test for Echo tour. I love American/Canadian rock music culture 😂
Space stuff? What’s Ricky talking about? Now if you’ll excuse me I have to board my ship the Rocinante, set a course just east of Lyra, northwest of Pegasus, and fly into the light of Deneb.
I had like the biggest hangover last week and on that day i binged the first two seasons and it was fucking hilarious. I was too weak to laugh though..
id change the channel every night and always pass over this show- until this episode and i stopped, and watched and damm it was funny - then watched the next episode at 9:30 and i was hooked
Dude I was watching this when it wasn't cool. It took this a long time to catch on. This is the first of it I've seen in years.. I forgot completely about to be honest..
"calm down, it's not like it's helix or something." does this imply helix is a similar tier of awesomeness to rush ? or is it just ricky's favorite band. i have no idea who they are but i may have to look more into it now. thanks rick
