Great memory recall from your childhood. Mine was very similar to yours... I'm 57, my mum made good normal dinners, meat, potatoes, veg to fish on a Friday....It was my Grandparents who knocked it out of the park : my maternal Nan her baking was to die for. My paternal Grandad made the best Sunday Roast dinner I have ever had ...all of the veg came straight out of his garden too. Happy days

This isn't me insinuating he's contradicting himself, but rather needing some clarification on what constitutes "working class" and 'poorer' than the average of that. Now, food, of course, is only one aspect. Though, it is a rather important one at that. So what he had available to eat may be considered "poorer than the average working class" over there in the U.K., but to my ears, as someone from Central Europe, it still sounds rather good. Because, of course, there IS definitely a difference between countries, as one goes from east to more western and westernized nations, not only in quality of life, but a difference between what is "average" in one part of the world compared to another.

How about a series of a grumpy shop manager who runs a rental VHS 📼 store who hates renting out or selling videos
