so sad they disbanded too early.. the world missed a masterpiece in the music industry during the 80's 😢 but I'm glad "More To Lose" became a hit in my country, Philippines, in the 80's ❤
More to lose was a big hit way back mid 80's in Asia specially the Philippines..In Cebu only Y101 FM had the exclusive to play this song. Cebu Music that time was influenced by this type of Music.. great music of New Wave!
It was first played in 99.5 rt. I remember going to the record store, and the saleslady told me that seona dancing doesnt have any full album. And its only available as a single, we dont have a turntable
Their two main songs released, after listening to them you can instantly tell they’re hit... surely they lacked airtime massively in the 80’s to get such little recognition
I was heavily into the new wave scene in 70s 80s , saw groups like Bauhaus , Human League , Depeche Mode Spandau Ballet etc way before they were famous , before they had hits . I did not see or hear anything about Seona Dancing . If I had heard this song I would have bought it back then .
Sorry just found out after watching Graham Norton with him as one of the guest. I like this song back in the 80's a lot along with it's melody and lyrics. Too bad they didn't do this gig anymore. I've been dancing whilst listenin' to this. Thanks Ricky Gervais for this.
I was a year below him at secondary school in Reading. Always loved is music. We used to have a Rock n Roll club after school . Monday's i think, bring along ya own LP's ( or ya brothers 😊 )...sing n shout til ya hearts content. When i look back and think of singing along to Gary Glitter, i cringe.
Ricky was always going to make it one way or another. The guy is a genius. These songs were great, I'm surprised they did not make it big. His destiny was writing comedy/acting and writing screenplays - very talented guy.
I'm not knocking this song, but I do wonder if Ricky would have gotten fully and substantially involved in the comedy game, had his musical interlude done did its thing, with the wot wot. 🤔
One could imagine a scenario wherein our boy Ricky is super pretentious--no longer willing to speak his mind. Feuding with his hero David Bowie. Wearing tight leather pants and starving himself to stay swank. I wonder. 🤔
they were BIG in the philippines only? there should be something wrong with the ears with the rest of the world. i knew it's a GREAT song the first time i heard it. and so is bitter heart and tell her.
Good tune, vocal audio a bit too low in the mix & lyrics over-elaborate in places, also 1 min too long in the fade out. Pity they didn't stick with it as a group, they had talent.
This song is absolutely no worse than many that were massive hits in the 80s, and Gervais looked HOT back then too - sorry they missed out, but I guess his loss was our gain years later.
This piano riff is fantastic! I know it feels like I’m clouded by fandom or something, but their other tracks aren’t great. This on the other hand is an amazing track! 😄♥️
To me it sounds like its still at the demo stage, its good but its missing a memorable riff and better punchier drums and production. Had some potential though but needed that magic touch.
I’m blown away finding this I just watched him on Sesame Street and though wow what a great voice and nice guitar this is great!!! He’s just a genuine nice talent all around!! 😊
