OMG ! this was the funniest one ever . just discovered this show and allen carr last week and have been binge watching ,.nothing like this in north america .
She clearly has a very different temperament from Norton, Merchant or Gervais but nonetheless a wicked sense of humour in her own right and she played off all of them really well.
The opossum is native to the Americas, which is why no one in Britain has seen one, although Ricci should've known. And yes, I too felt like I was the loner in a world full of ignoramuses when no one could identify it, Graham even thinking it was an OWL at one point.
@roxydzey yeah, does anyone know how old she was here. It must a long time ago because ricky was thin here. Such a great episode, all three and of course graham, all clicked here.
@@roxydzey "childish" is so NOT the word. Youthful barely fits, because she has experienced what youth has not. She is quite mature, yet spritely open and spirited.
Christina Ricci will always be Wednesday Addams. No matter what movie she is in I just go “oh it’s Wednesday.” Her voice is just a delight to listen to.
At 29:00 actually brings a tear to my eye, cause my wife, daughters, and I had a house pet possum George for 5 years and also recently had Nova for just under 3 years - both died of old age. I got so close to Nova that i said no more possums whenever she passed away, they tie with dogs as #1 favorite type of pet to have. They are too sweet for their own good, probably why they have such short lifespans.
@@christheghostwriternot sure if you know Craig Ferguson when he used to do the late late show in America but if you haven’t I strongly recommend that you do as his interview technique is far more relaxed and it’s as if one is there engaged and to answer your question I’ve met Tina Turner and Tracy Chapman but no actresses I’m sorry to say 🥹😢
This is something the US talkshows will never replicate. The guests can take a piss at each other and laugh at it. Political correctness no where to be seen.
I just looked it up (in 2023), and Christina was 30 here, in 2010 (43). 19yo Pixie Lott will be 32 now. And Graham is 47 (60), Ricky is 50 (62), and Stephen is 35 (48). Thank you for reading this incredibly boring comment.
26:51 I took a girl from work I liked to a restaurant for lunch. She wasn't 21 yet, but she ordered an alcoholic drink. The waiter knew that she wasn't old enough, but gave her the drink anyways, without alcohol in it. The funniest thing is after she drank it, she started acting like she was drunk! It was so funny.
Did no one ever tell Graham, that animal was a North American Opossum?? The only marsupial in North America? Apparently the real story about the little boy seated apart from the family is he wouldn't sit on their lap and it was the only way to include him at all!
7:14 Drew Barrymore was the same way. She was at her wildest when she was like 12. Getting into clubs and being served alcohol and worse. So glad she made it through.
Loved the little trio. They mesh so well together. Graham is gifted in that way. For some reason I watched his show for years & stopped during covid when people were sat in chairs. It just felt odd - like the show lost its soul. But I do hope he changed the background, orange is a great happy color, but this shade literally attacks ur eyes, it’s a bit much.
She was talking in her normal accent, but she was filming a movie at the time where she had an accent so maybe that made an appearance in this interview..
Stephen Merchant told that same joss stick story on another The Graham Norton Show. Again the American guest had to be explained what a joss stick was. You'd have thought he'd have learned to just say "incense" instead.
What and miss the chance to explain that America is not the best and only thing, you would spoil most travelers fun. They are the the easiest and most annoying targets.
That wasn't a ferret in that picture. That was a possum. A ferret wouldn't have been anywhere near as cringy. A possum though? What the hell, was this an Alabama family??
