This is how you know these labels be pumping artists streams and fame status. This video is a month old from the good morning America channel and has 892 views. I am literally the 3rd comment. The ability to ‘make a star’ is still possible, but usually they end up spending more money than they make. Got nothing against Rico Nasty, never heard a song from her nor could I name a song from her, im just stating how this video is the rare proof of the economic bubble that the hip hop industry currently is (and how it is soon to burst)
she's more punk leaning than hip hop, her music is very diverse. Though like you said you've never listened to her, but it explains this in the video. Also Algorithms on youtube make things blow up after the fact, also if she gets more popular from her other shows / collabs people will search her and vids like this pop up. She's been in the game for years and isn't at high fame status yet, she's not being pumped, sometimes hardwork just gets you recognized and people reach out to do interviews. Not everything is some nefarious "powers that be in the background". But difference of opinion, cheers!
@@sarah2172 also, she has had collabs with big name people. It's just their fan base still typically isn't the type to dive deep into her music, like Doja Cat's fans. While that's exactly how I personally was introduced to her. Like being a black girl in rock or punk really puts you in the middle of two lanes.. the odds were against her I'd already say she's big enough. Getting Too famous can be Really restrictive.. it's sad. I'd say shea in the sweet spot of being well known, having money, and still being able to go tf out freely!
She has a more recent interview 4 weeks old on a different page with quadruple the views vs here. Again, this one obscure video is not proof of anything
