In my opinion, it's really cringe. I won't say it's not wrestling, but I rather watch something that looks a bit more realistic than that. Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, Kurt Angle were good, except I didn't like how Shawn would oversell some moves lol.

Wrestling is literally built on suspension of disbelief, it's a question of how much an individual is will to suspend their disbelief, which is subjective. That's why I don't like comments like "this isn't wrestling". What you might look at as, for the lack of a better term, "proper" wrestling that doesn't break immersion too much, others who don't watch wrestling at all might look at it and think "this is clearly not real or realistic, why do people watch it?" etc... I'm sure you've heard that before. So to each their own, and that's perfectly fine.

When you really think about it (which isn't a good idea in pro wrestling) an Irish whip doesn't make much sense either. A dude swings another dude by the arm who somehow keeps running, turns and bounces off the ropes, goes back running and casually walks into a clothesline like an idiot. I have my immersion broken sometimes by some things in wrestling, but I tend to overlook that if the action is compelling enough. How much one is willing to do that is completely personal, which again, is totally fine.

This match was not an instant classic in wrestling matches. If I wanted to see guys do backflips I would watch gymnastics. You can be a high flyer wrestler without trying to re create anime scenes mid match. Ask Rey Mysterio. This was not wrestling. 😂😂😂😭

@@hill8852 it worked because the zombie and his burnt brother fought in a semi-realistic, lore friendly way. once inring stuff relies on complete non realism it falls apart. not because its supposed to look real, but because wrestling, like anything else has lore. and just like anything else when lore gets broken interest is lost. the irish whip makes no sense but it fits in wrestling. a bunch of movespam where everyone flips all over the place and sells nothing tends not to. this is speaking from a casual perspective of course. animewrestling does have a place somewhere as a niche, but most dont really like it because of lore reasons

This was from NJPW's annual Best of The Super Juniors tournament in 2016. I believe it was the finals or semi-finals. Opponent in the blue pants is Will Ospreay, match took place at Korakuen Hall in Japan.
