Game 2 was freaking HYPE. I think that character is hecking lame, but when [REDACTED] made the mirror match and took the early, commanding lead, I lost my mind! And then my favorite player, [REDACTED], brought it right back for the win--insane from both sides!
Completely agree. His attacks have almost no knock back and even with wooden weapons he can rack up 80-100% from one combo😐 if he’s going to be so combo heavy his attacks should do low damage like Mythra. Imagine if a combo heavy character like Mythra did the damage that Steve does
@@Gekko.. To be honest, he implemented Steve perfectly since in Minecraft, his weapons don't do that much knockback. But in this game, I think he needs to be nerfed cuz he just broken
@@hoovybeast0594 yeah I mean all of his moves and the way he plays is implemented great but he’s completely broken with the way his moves has pretty much zero knock back. Once he gets diamond weapons his damage output is insane and yet he still has no knock back. I feel like the stronger the weapon the more knock back it should have so you can’t just swing a diamond sword and walk someone across the stage with it doing like 80-100% damage in the process
Steve is insanely broken light just beat acola but had to actually make zero mistakes work 100 times harder and outplay acola every second it’s kinda dumb
For the people who are considering Kaz to be like top 5, that Kaz Steve MU should showcase just how lackluster Kaz's neutral is. The character is still polarizing but there's a considerable gap in the power of Kaz and Steve, both of which can basically TOD you from 0 in the right circumstances. Still mad props for Riddles he played like a beast this tourney, but Acola and Steve are inevitable
It's a bad matchup but that doesn't take away the fact that Kazuya is unfair and broken, Kazuya is easily top 5 based on how he invalidates so many characters and can kill you at 0
@@FernandoDiaz-gr3pj Steve and ROB got similarly crazy combo games but actually have good neutral as well, and then on the flip side you have chars like MinMin that almost completely shut down Kaz. I do agree with him being p toxic for the game due to the polarizing nature of the character but I do think top 5 is stretching it. 10-15 I think is around where he lands
1. There really is only one Steve that would zero to death you (on the level of Kazuya at least) and he doesn’t even play in bracket 2. Yeah to me as well, Kazuya will never be top 5. His neutral mobility, and disadvantage don’t cover his advantage.
Damn, I really wanted Riddles to win. But loss aside, Riddles needs to learn every bit of the Steve matchup or even have a counter pick against Steve maybe
Roy isn’t good against Steve , kola is . Kolas match was honestly him knowing counterplay and being the better player. Riddles can do it with Terry he just needs to learn more counterplay like light and kola
Anyone hating on Steve in this set is just salty. Both of them made it to the top by picking up dumb DLC characters (though Terry isn't as dumb as Steve and Kazuya but still pretty damn OP). Acola even showed he can play the Kazuya ditto damn well. You cannot dismiss Acola's wins without saying Riddles got carried by Kazuya as well. They are both amazing players playing broken characters.
You could say the same for riddles kazuya lmao. As soon as he stopped playing kazuya he lost. He did lose to Proto before this against lucina and min min
@@Pj_901 I'm not a fan of Kazuya either, he had the same problem where even if you play perfect against him 99% of the time, that 1% can still lose you the match but even he's not as bad as Steve. I know Kazuya won't ever get banned though, but with Steve at least it's a possibility. Also Kazuya combos are definitely more difficult to perform and he can't place blocks to literally just block your stage recovery lol
@@panacea.palace idk Steve ban might not happen especially because so many people beat acola Steve with their mains. Steve counterplay does exsist idk about kazuya counter play tho. For kazuya you have to play a whole different character which isn’t fair
@@Pj_901 It seems that most of the top players have a bigger problem with Steve than Kazuya but you're right that a ban is unlikely, unless it gets really bad and it's just Steve mirror matches in grand finals at tournaments it just won't happen I think
Dude, he was winning at the beginning of the match with kazuya, and only barely lost against what is after all Riddles's main. Meanwhile, he utterly demolished Riddles in the first game and still won very convincingly in the last two games. Acola played much, much better than Riddles in this set.
How was he salty if he turned to him after and shook his hand? And Acola is good, but just like Onin there's no proof he can get this far without maining Steve who's unanimously considered broken lol
Yo - anyone ever seen Acola win without the OP Steve? Riddles clowned Elite Smash on Day 1 with Steve. Too easy to create advantages / disadvantages with Steve (and not to mention boring & repetitive).
