It took absolute precision for Glutto to keep this even close. The Kazuya vs Wario matchup leans heavily into Kazuya’s favor. Props to the commentators for laying this out so well for the viewers!
Yeah it’s a dogshit MU for Wario indeed. Outside of having a better recovery and mobility Kazuya is better in the rest including the Burst option which is the main thing going for Wario. Kazuya almost made a comeback on Wario on the one game Riddles lost at despite big deficit. Wario might have Waft but if your execution is good enough then the EWGF routes by far is better lol
Kazuya and Wario are similar. The only difference is that Kazuya got to keep all of his zero to deaths, has actual hitstun on most of his moves, has infinite super armor and invulnerability, has aimbot as a fighting game character, has better range, dies later, better shield pressure and gets waft 3 times a game with his instant dash-command grab that he can use without penalty if it misses. So overall it's pretty even match-up I guess.
That’s what I’m saying, people only say “the matchup is bad for wario” BECAUSE wario doesn’t have all these advantages anymore that he usually gets for free vs other characters. This shits even as fuck. Warios confirms to waft are so simple it’s disgusting
@@CaptainFracture I think you misinterpreted my sarcastic comment. I think this matchup is straight up awful for Wario and he's worse in almost every way. Unless of course you're being sarcastic and I'm the one misinterpreting your comment. As far as waft goes, it's obviously very strong, but you only really get it full strength once a game. Kazuya's command grab 1) can be used at least three times a game, 2) kills *mid-stage* at sub 80%, 3) is easy to land without need of any confirm and 4) has incredible horizontal AND vertical range and 5) deals almost the exact same amount of percentage, and finally 6) (the most ridiculous part) can be used again without consequence if it misses. And all of that is literally just one of the many, many ways Kazuya is superior to Wario.

Before people try and say discredit riddles. The bulk of his results the past couple of months has been mostly Terry. And people saying Riddles was a nobody before Kazuya is smoking crack. Riddles was pgrd with Richter,and Ken in 2019.
Riddles is GODLIKE. Amazing to watch - but man, Gluttony NEEDS to learn this match up. He literally did not DI mixup EWGF whatsoever. Watch the blue line, he literally always DI’s out and never changes it, so he kinda deserved to become combo food.
Gluto said his hands hurt because of his tendonitis so he can't SDI much. He decided to not at the beginning of the set and then tried a bit for the last game but he said that he prefers losing a set rather than not being able to play for a few months if he goes too hard.
Bruh I'LL KEEP SAYING IT UNTIL YALL REALIZE THE TRUTH. Kazuya and Steve are the two S-Tier characters in this game They have all the tools they're just hard to play and takes alot of commitment. Im not going to go so far as to say Riddles is carried by Kaz but hes definitely does better with Kazuya than Terry and he hates playing Kazuya
@@biledox5576 Kazuya's combos are more powerful than a waft, Riddles needs at worse 2 openings to take a stock out. he has multiple options to open his combos, the combos he achives are impressive combination of button touches but the antethesis of smash, a bit boring bth.
As strong as riddles is with kaz it seems like a more defensive wiff punish focused approch chould help him more with the matchups where the enemy is forced to approach.
Normally I would say Kazuya is stupid broken character but Riddles did beat him before with Terry. Just wish there's more Terry play as that's why I watch Riddles mostly.
I think the match up is alright against Ryu and Ken cause there recovering ain't the best and Gluto beat Vendetta like 3-0 but both Terry and Kazuya (mostly Terry) do have options when recovering as that's Warios best advantage when taking a stock so there survivability is up.
This set was great. Riddles parried a Waft, I was really surprised. But man... Kazuya's advantage state is disgusting. I saw folks talking about how he's not busted because his disadvantage state sucks, but man, does he really cares when he can do these touch to death combos ? Idk, character looks kinda broke broke to me, not ban worthy or whatever but I would go Min Min with zero shame against Kazuya players 😄
Calm down, wario is carried to hell and back by waft. The character has no end lag and especially as a brawler wario is busted. Warios a brawler therefore Kazuya does extremely well against him. Stop acting like riddles is carried when time and time again you see gluto get free stocks off of waft with the easiest confirms on planet earth.

Steve has that too on fast fallers. He also has that off fair, up tilt and down throw, and the ability to camp and stall and has far less of an execution barrier. Say what you want about Kaz but Steve is not fair by any stretch of the imagination.
All riddles did was fish for kills and combos and 0 to deaths. Gluttony made so many reads but riddles won because the risk reward ratio is fucked. And glutto will eventually mess up, dident play better a single time and he knows it.

Right after the set, "(Riddles) understanding of the game, not just FGC's". Riddles tried picking up Roy and he couldn't perform even close to what he does with FGC's, unlike pretty much every other top player (Leo, Spargo, Tweek, Proto, Zackray etc.). Again, stop spreading misinformation. Give Riddles and Gluto random characters (Wario and FGC's excluded) and Gluto will win 7 or 8 out of ten games, easily. There is something very wrong with these characters, especially Kazuya. Tea picking up Kazuya on the side casually (actually being better at it then Riddles) speaks volumes. It's the Bayo situation all over again. Something needs to happen
@@vick7868 PGR 49th I believe. Riddles is a very good player but he's not top 10 material, that was my point. That's why I compared him to Gluttony. And btw right now pretty much everyone agrees Kazuya is broken lol, been saying that for months.
@@Bladieblah Kazuya is broken but even then, PGR with Richter at 50 is pretty nuts. He was getting top 15 results with Terry too. Not to mention, no one else was doing what he did for the longest time, only just now has Ferps shown up and done something on the world stage. Riddles being able to do what he's done for this ling proves he's not as carried as you make him out to be. Honestly think a character like Steve is a harder carry since out of the 4-5 Steve players doing stuff on the world stage only one of them, Ddee, was doing anything notable before the character. Kazuya broken but I can buy that Riddles has found a character that he clicks with more than I believe he's carried.
@@vick7868 Tea has always been amazing with Kazuya alongside Riddles, he just didn't play him as much. ESAM did a long set vs. Riddles early on and won against. Terry is in the same vein as Kazuya, incredibly broken with way too much reward on hit but to a lesser extent. Converting fast and safe hits into kills and/or big damage = broken, applies to all the FGC's and Steve. Especially the kill power for FGC's, it's why Light hates fighting Ken. Ken and Ryu do have more weaknesses than Kazuya and Terry, range and recovery problems mostly. Riddles Kazuya is definitely very good though, only him and Tea make the character look like it can be agressive. Character feels trash when you play it yourself. It's honestly impressive, it's not easy to be agressive with this character, which sounds strange but it's trye
@@Bladieblah Thank you, that's what I wanted to hear; Kaz isnt free at all. I play both Pac and Kazuya and its super high maintenance lol. Kaz is really hard to get the hang of but when you do you feel like the final boss. It's such a power trip and I love it.
