How they haven't realised they need a Forza Horizon type game is insane to me. Literally riding down a freeway with friends and other players through cities with realistic traffic. Perfect opportunity wasted.
Idiotic take. So you want less options in a game ? Common sense and I mean iq lvl 50 would tell you it’s far better to have an engaging story campaign as well as just straight race seasons. If you don’t wanna play it fine. But if it wasn’t successful we wouldn’t see it in every modern game.
@@SticksAandstonesBozowe only see it in modern games because of money. They mak money off the transactions. Over 80 procent of career modes are not engaging at all. It’s always rivalries and underdog. There are more type of stories to play. Maybe if they would implement that, we would get somewhere
@@bengejuknowit3048in what way you dont see differences? Ride 5 is so much better than 4 cause graphics had a substancial upgrade. Ride 4 is an old generation game, Ride 5 is only to Ps5.. Sorry my English.
If they made it open world /free roam and MP with in-depth upgrade options, customazations and some better physics, it would be a big game. Most players wanna do wheelies, and stunts with friends, not racing. why not do both.
@@adamdavis7271I kinda want an open world/race game, a mix like you can pick what mode you wanna do would be nice coz I love exploring and I love motorcycles
You already got your option in the game, they could mix them up and do both to get a bigger player base. Stunt bike are usually not streched and lowered btw. @@adamdavis7271
I currently have ride 3 and I will say the bike models look so much better ! As I feel they look a bit cartoony in ride 3 , however I will say ride 3 is a fun game , with the different bikes you can accumulate ! So I will be looking forward to Ride 5 , but I will be waiting for a good sale !
How is lacking a story driven career mode a negative? I think it's actually a positive. I don't want to watch a million cut scenes nor skip through them. Ride 3 career mode was perfect for me.
extremely disappointed by the lack of iconic motorcycles featured in previous games that are not present ride 5. Especially the lack of slower bikes from each manufacturer. Even additional tracks could be added. Overall just feels like Ride 4.1
im surprise sports games like Madden or NBA doesnt go full live service and just update rosters as they go seeing as there is little to no real difference between each year release. im assuming it has something to do with licensing or some other nonsense. its just silly that the biggest changes are just roster w/ some features coming and going with each release.
I feel the gameplay is easier then ride 4 but ai feels tougher, i played on 80% and had not much problems on ride 4 but in this one they put a hell of a fight and they are fast.
This review is from the view of a gamer, albeit a good and pretty legit dude in the gamer world. But he nods to that angle, kudos to that. Not positive, but willing to bet he has never rode a motorcycle, been in a turn at nearly full lean and seen gravel or grooves and relied on instict to get him home. As a racing Sim, the ride series has always suffered, but true motorcycle folks dig what it offers, so to all the true riders, don't be swayed by this dude who probably still has his mom heat his pizza rolls for him while he games and records his vids. But again, as a true motorcycle junkie here, I love pizza rolls too. This review is from a gamer, as a game. And he kinda nails it as the game is concerned. But as a diehard biker, lifelong gamer and racing fan, this game is good, and the good it offers outweighs the bad, so pick it up and enjoy mobbing the northwest 200 circuit, bouncing off the Rev limiter on the main straight at Mugello, and just have fun. And Kudos to an accurate gaming review of ride 5, but for one rider to another, go buy it and enjoy.
I doubt this game is less than an 8, I think I will rate it 8,5 when I get it on PC in 2 days. We'll see, it looks great so far, not many imrpovements since Ride 4 but Ride 4 is already a 8/10 game in my opinion.
It’s a fun game,i like it a lot. Since i skipped Ride 4 i find it lacking a lot of different bikes and racing modes like in Ride 3(i loved the 125cc bikes). Butt…it looks and plays very nice, and the race editor gives you replay value.
Nope, I'm looking for a 'realistic' handling model (transferred to the limits of a Computer/ Console medium ) along with set up options, tyre modelling, telemetry, dynamic weather, race editor, endurance and night racing. Can't really say I'm that invested in the virtual rider hopes and dreams and what they do between races. Play these games to escape that rubbish , still way things are going :- Ride 6 - New features - manage your Riders Social media and Instagram Accounts, follow the ups and downs as your Rider buys a Puppy !! Oh no, something you've said on X has not gone down well and now the masses are demanding you should lose your Team Spot. 😢
i hate how every modern reviewer is convinced that games need a "narrative driven story mode"...they dont...i dont need some nobody video game "writers" contrived story about how Racer X is trying to win the skrrt-skrrt-cup and yadda yadda...who TF cares? I AM "Racer X"...the story is mine...i dont need contrived "narrative"; just give me races to race. "voice works, cinematics" all WASTES of development time and money.
To all the racing games that know what they're supposed to be about! 🍺🏁🍺🏁🍺🏁 I wonder if there's a correlation between 3rd person floaters & the desire for buddies & story modes.🤔
I love watching review channels do bike racing games because of how bad there lines are on track. That is not a dig though. They are very difficult games. And you actually gave a great review. I saw another channel complain so hard about ride 4 because it "didn't feel good and preformed bad due to mechanics ". Mans was the worst player i saw to date.
Ride 2 was the best one you can customize more with colors on handle bars brakes lever mirror ECT wheelie was was better also u can drop more back with wheelies and stoppie you can really go far wih stoopies only thing u couldn't do is customize the decals on the bikes like changing the whole color of the bike n adding stickers
You say a story would be good? It's literally a sim, have you not played Gran Turismo? They have used the same formula since PS1, and it's still good. If milestone would go forza horizon style than yes a narrative would be necessary. Which IMHO the ride series is past due for an open world arcade style title that anyone can pickup and enjoy 2 wheels, with more arcady forgiving physics, a great map for riders to showcase riding skills. Definitely with added customization as well. We can only wish though.
@@ferociouzmonkdrace will never say anything bad about milestone. Pretty sure hes sponsored by them. Ride 5 has very little different than ride 4. Milestone claimmed "go beyond racing" but thats all you do😂😂. They become ea.
@@messiahshow totally dont think so. Moto gp is prob the easiest bike game out there. Ride 4 you fell if you braked. Moto gp is fun and you dont constantly hit a wall. I just think ride 5 is the same as ride 4.
I chuckled when the reviewer complained the game didn't have a killer narrative like F1 23. C'mon, it's a freaking racing game. You want a killer narrative, go play TLOU.
Didn’t seem to listen to fans either RE more street/open world style tracks. That is what fans want, an open world motorcycle game, a game that embodies the freedom that motorcycles provide and doesn’t restrict the gameplay to track only.
Ride NEEDS a social open world version with adventure/enduro riding. Like Forza Horizon but motorcycles... and hopefully without the god awful cringe voice over nonsense. I actually think they need to LOSE the story elements, and focus on an engaging progression system without the bullshit. I appreciate not wasting my time, or the developer's resources, on garbage cutscenes, shallow characters, and nonsense plots.
This is my first Ride game and I'm enjoying it immensely. There's always a balance between the fun arcade feel and ultra realism when it comes to racing games and i think Ride has found that perfectly.
Milestone must be one of the, if not the most complacent gaming companies in the world. They've been churning out the same copy/paste games for decades without (m)any changes or improvements. They need competition, otherwise nothing will change for another 10 years. All their MotoGP games have been the same for years, then they did a search/replace in their code and released WSBK and now Ride 5 seems to be more of the same again. Same engine, same old fake sounds, same uncontrollable physics, same dumb and unbalanced AI. Last game that I bought from them was MotoGP 22 and I don't think I'll be buying anything new from them in the years to come seeing how nothing ever changes. If they put zero effort into their products then I'll put zero money into them.
I wonder if the devs actually ride bikes. If so they should know that as everyone says we need open world. Also every bikes sounds the same, big mistake for gearheads.
Also part degradation/failure/damage makes it one of the kind. I like it. It is much better as a simulation and carrer mode. Ride5 looks for me as another skin in for the same game....
It's ridiculous to compare a Milestone game to EA racing titles. They have much more budget than Milestone and can therefore create a much more in-depth and extensive career mode... It is fairer to compare Ride 5 with predecessor Ride 4. And if you do just that, Ride 5 is a significant improvement. An 8 is more appropriate.
I have Ride 4 and as a rider gone with all short of bikes in the past (now I have 2 litre bikes) the handling was/is utter sh!t, its like the devs never riden a bicycle let alone a motorcycle... on top of that, the AI was/is beyond idiotic...let alone the fact that Ride 4 compared to Ride 3 had half the content and the rest came as DLC.... I am skipping Ride 5-6-7-8-9-10...
All I see is rocking left to right constantly to try to maintain correct angles. Sounds weird, but wheel support would benefit these bike games I think.
@@addz that's dumb as it's not hard to rice smooth man I've only been playing for a few months and frequently top 160-250 in the weekly challanges and last week I got 80ish you definitely can ride super smooth also who plays a bike game on a wheel lmao you ever riden a bike or what? Couldn't be further from a car I have a good sim set-up usually do car sims no way woukd a wheel be better try flicking from left ro fight in a S bend or tight shiqane with a wheel
All I care about are the physics and sound of the bikes. Could not care less about a career mode tbh. Does anyone know if Ride 5 improved a lot on the engine sounds compared to 4?
Sounds are better IMO. Physics are a little weird. In some corners the brakes are grabby and slow me down. Other corners it feels like someone greased my rotors. Corner speed feels slower than Ride 4 after playing them back to back. Career mode is SUPER linear. You HAVE to go in the order they want you to which is dumb to me. Not sure how I feel about it right now considering the only plus for me is the sounds improvement. EDIT: Another thing I should note is that the prices for bikes and parts is realistic. The H2R is priced at 55,000. 2023 M1000rr is priced around 33000 which is in line with real life which is a big plus for me personally.
Once I heard no supermoto I passed, it was one of the only games you could race supermoto in. Now that that's gone it's basically a copy and paste while removing content. Smh no thanks maybe ride 6 they won't drop the ball, well one can hope
2:53 If you call that realistic weather with those fake looking water drops on that windshield or whatever it's called, then you seriously... and I mean seriously need to have your eyes checked.
I said the same thing ride 4 on very easy was so sweaty I couldn’t turn going 20 mph while the cpu hits the corner going 120 now i have to play a impossible game of catch up smh ill wait until proven otherwise
@@duhrell then i really can’t figure why it’s hard to play for you. You should know how motorcycle works. Weird. I would ride a real motorcycle better too, if i’ve had a license and a machine.
@@MarekZpe3n i played the game when it first came out … they fixed the game later on after release I already uninstalled the game because its trash … I shouldn’t have to slow down to 20mph to make a corner while the cpu on very easy hits it going 120mph racing like valentino rossi….
Honestly seeing how bad you are playing this game makes it difficult to take your word for it. Also using the f1 game as an example while they’ve been hitting new lows every season for the last few years in terms of quality really shows you have no idea what you’re talking about when it comes to the racing genre
@@bengejuknowit3048 exactly what happened to me. After many difficulties i did managed to complete and after that they fixed it and i was not happy about that.
On PC, I assume you can do the same trick with the controller emulator, X360ce, to use pretty much anything from steering wheels to joysticks if you want. On consoles, I have no idea.
I was hoping this game woukd have a free roam, clearly i am not alone in that from the comments. Crew motorfest has bikes, but its very limited in scope.
I think a fixed first person mode would be great (its useless in r4 cause of the fu#%/*@g shaking). A auto look at entery, apex and exit function or eye tracking support would be better than vr in my opinion.
