I have resigned myself to VR only now as I enjoy it more, back up to a high A so would love to think I'd see you in a lobby sometime but I think it's very difficult to compete at that level in VR. Every car and view is different.. As Steve said your technique is exceptionally smooth, keep up the good work 👍

@@Pontik1 Absolute fair point. Mikail really put the pressure to the max on these corners. All the more impressive that Konsta regained P1 again when he wasn't on the inside line in 5:42 anymore.
It's so impressive watching these top-level drivers. The way they keep their composure for long periods of time is mesmerising, just hitting lap after clean lap.
Just wanted to shout out the way you wove the narrative of the race through out the video. The different perspectives of the drivers combined with the clear commentary to explain what was happening on screen really heightened the intensity and excitement of the race. Great race, great commentary, great editing, great video!

Very cool video. I raced C.Lopez twice in my GT career. I shared a replay when it was Gr1 Interlagos. The guy won the race from pretty much last. And overtook me like a boss.
This so cool. I truly enjoy watching GT world championship drivers race. They are impressive to watch. Mikail has always been one of my favourites. I love the old battles Fraga and Mikail used to have so intense. Still got the pace and skills. ❤
This is why Sim Racing / Racing in general is so exciting to watch. I almost jumped out of my chair in the last part of the race. Respect to all drivers in this race! And thanks for commentating and sharing this clip Steve.
This is the kind of respectful racing I want to see in C and B lobbies. I know it’s a pipe dream and it’ll never happen, but it was fun to see the style of racing I want to be involved in. All racers here were all about the race itself and not ramming each other to gain a position that means nothing. This is racing. This is Gran Turismo. This is PlayStation.

I've been wondering why I can't make better lap times or keep pace with other drivers in my lobbies. This video just shows the kind of consistency and accuracy you need just to keep up. Absolute perfection!!! Well in to Mikal and Konsta.
Mate, as a karting content creator I can imagine the amount of hours you’ve put into making the video. From watching all the replays, to making the cuts and coordinating them, to recording the voice, the thumbnail, etc… Excellent work and great battle between these top of the world guys, I enjoyed it a lot!
GREAT to see the people who are among the best at what they do, work their magic on track. That's what makes those GT World Championship streams so fantastic and NOT to be missed. Well, that, and the amazing commentary from Jimmy and Tom with the occasional SuperGT cameo!
That was an incredible race! The fact that the top 3 pitted and 4th place caught up because he hadn't gone to the pit lane yet is insane. The respect they give each other while fighting through corners, too. I wish I had the patience to become even half as good as these guys.
This is nuts, you guys should be proud not only for your skill but also and especially for keeping your cool and staying fair through such a long and straining battle, this was so much fun to watch

That was fantastic! I have only ever had 1 race like that where it was hard racing, but clean between myself and another player. It was Miatas at Tsukuba. We swapped 1-2 so many times! In the end I unfortunately lost in a similar fashion as this race, but it was SUPER close! That race kept me interested...and then the rules changes and the tanking of ratings forcing lower lobby racing where it was near impossible to regain your ratings...I finally had enough and stopped playing.
Now THAT was a race!!!! That finish! If only I’d have these type of respectful drivers in my lobbies. I don’t understand what motivates everyone to drive so dirty now.
Fantastic coverage of a great race! You should know the timing boxes are not in front of the car (of this I'm certain irl and in GT7) but I believe at the wheel (irl this varies from organizations but if I remember correctly from my testing it is located there in GT7). Cheers
It was nice to see a race where the announcer didn't scream once with fake excitement forcing me to turn off volume and miss all the great engine sound. GREAT JOB TO ALL!
Ahh so Hizal is part of TRL crew! I remember them in GT6 dominating back then too. That was a very very clean and professional race, as expected. Loved seeing the lines they took. Must try now lol

I follow Gran Turismo championships for years. It really adds a lot of fun when you know the drivers already. PS: Hizal engineering an overtake while being an engineer in real life was not fluke in your speech Steve
Great video Steve! this is the GT7 equivalent of joining top split in Iracing, and Real life drivers and pro esport guys connect to your lobby you know it will be intense haha
That is why I enjoy GT7. I mean, Icould only dream of having the kind of ability those 3 drivers displayed here. Epic! I ride off road dirt bikes too, and while I am by no means a fast rider, the best bit for me is the close racing with my mates or peers.

I ran a 1:30.3 in a race last night here on softs and it's giving me motivation to hop and keep improving seeing how these guys are running similar times. Their consistent pace if ridiculous though
absolutely loved this race. I never knew GT racing between the pros were so close from beginning to end. I was impressed with their car control on every single lap. One thing I didn’t understand was how did the driver of the yellow car kept control of the car with the tires pretty worn out?
