I ride up to the end of the Starkey Gap Trail a lot and I take a quick break there before I turn South and head back home. I started to notice this bus number 54 passing by me and I noticed it stopped at a bus stop very close to me towards the West. I was curious where it went. I found out it went to the Shops at wiregrass which is pretty far from the end of the Starkey Gap at 20 miles away and it's only a $1.50 to ride with or without a bike. The bus passes there every hour about 6 minutes after the hour. My original plan was to jump on the bus and go to the Shops at Wiregrass and then ride SR-56 to US 301. I spotted another bike trail just South of Hunters Green called Flatwoods Wilderness Park which is about a 10 mile loop ride. I drove on this day to go ride both trails. My thermostat housing hose leaked out antifreeze as soon and I parked the vehicle and that ruined my plans to go ride the the Flatwoods Wilderness Park. I wished I had caught the bus after that happened.
When I was riding around the New Bike Trail next to SR-56 in Wiregrass, I realized there was a lot of trails around there in the neighborhoods. Those neighborhood have roads that go forever. I helped build some of the homes in Meadow Pointe back in the early to mid and late 90's as a plumber's helper. There was only a few sub divisions in there and only a Farm Store and an Italian Restaurant near Bruce B Downs at the time. There wasn't much out there. In the late 90's it took us almost 20 minutes to ride to the back of Meadowpointe and it turned left or right. Now if I assume if I turned left that it would bring me out to SR-56. Meadow Pointe would be a Great place to ride a bike.
