In this video, there's a brief update on the Triumph Trident 660, but the majority of the video covers a test ride of a 2023 CFMoto 450 NK. Ride along as I take a first ride on this entry-level motorcycle.
See you on the road! 🏍️🤘

I hope the 450 Cruiser comes to the U.S. as well.

Interesting; I didn’t know they made a cruiser. If it has the same design cues as these other bikes, I bet it will look pretty cool.

That was sort of a miserable test ride, didn't get to test it out much in the twisties using the power and brakes, it's a good bike, even for experienced riders, I have the blue/white version and the SS version, in the right hands on mountain roads, they can keep up with the big bikes, don't be fooled when people call these "beginner bikes", they perform very well, now, if you're one that prefers going triple digits on straights all the time, get something else. I have several bikes, these two CFmoto's fit well in my streetbike lineup. I was told differently on the motor source but cannot confirm yet.

I agree; I was hoping to get to push it a little more, but I had to follow their guy from the shop. I understand why they do that, but it does limit the test. I was impressed with the overall ride of the bike, and I can also see how the 800 model would draw in a big crowd for the money. Definitely a lot better than I was expecting at the mid-$5k price point. Since the line is relatively new, I’m interested to see the reliability over time. How long have you had yours? Any major issues? On the motor, I think the 800 is the actual KTM motor, so I think this one was developed separately; still plenty of “go”, though. It was a fun, albeit short, ride.

I watched another fellows videos just today about this 450NK and he said he was able to get it up to 105mph on the interstate without issue. But he said the cruising speed it likes to stay at the most is around the 80-90mph limit which it does just fine. Someone else in his comments section also said CF-Moto is also in the process of supposedly releasing a 450 Ibex here to the US at some point in the future. The price he gave for it was a starting price of $6,500. My friend and I only started riding a couple of seasons ago and we love it. But we've out grown the simple 250's we started off with because they're just not powerful enough to get away from bad drivers. Everyone around here has the habit of riding your ass too closely and you can't get away because your power is already used up for trying to meet the speed limit. Add in countless hills to climb with a cross-breeze added in to an other wise sunny dad and you're done. So something like this 450 would be a good future replacement. It falls into the "just powerful enough" category. As far as reliability goes I'd suggest watching some riders from Europe and the UK. All of these CF-Moto bikes are all released over there first under a different name and then are eventually released here in the states under a different name to suit the US market. The 800 Ibex is known as the 800 MT over in Europe & UK.

Great info, thanks. I’d consider this 450 an entry level bike; you’d outgrow it pretty quickly, too. I’d suggest looking into the 600-750 cc range. I find that class perfect fun for around town and twisties, but also great for cruising the highway as able to get away from those bad drivers. If the power worries you a first, you can always run it in “rain mode” to dial things back a little. Best of luck in your search!

@@motomaverickusa Hmmm. If growing out of this 450 is a problem then I might as well stick with my original choices. Those either being the CLX 700 or the Ibex 800. Those two interest me the most out of all of the other bikes because they fit my riding style the best. The power isn't really the issue for me to be honest. I tend to take it easy until I've gotten used to the feel of it. I'm not a racer so I don't care if it's capable of going blazing fast. I'm looking for good power that has no issues flowing with traffic. Plus it has to be comfortable for extended riding time. Those two bikes fit the bill the most for me. :)

I’m exactly the same way; I really enjoy my Triumph Trident 660 and my Tiger 800 XRx. Perfect riding style for me and enough power to have fun in the twisties without going nuts

@@motomaverickusa As much as I like the looks of the SS model bikes that's why they never really interested me. They're made for going fast and being sporty so there's no practicality to them. The CLX and Ibex can have luggage put on them for holding stuff. So if I wanted to ride to the store I can store my items. :)

Yeah, does 110mph, with a gear change close to 115-120mph. I find 80mph about the max comfortable for longer rides, unless you install a windshield, but even then, the wind is noisy.

Weighs 370lbs dry. Wet is closer to 400lbs. But weight is all at the bottom.

KTM does not make a 450cc parallel twin. They were working on one for the Duke 390 and Husqvarna 401s but they scrapped their plans. The new Duke 390 and Husqvarna 401s have a new motor but it's still a single.
@motomaverickusa
@motomaverickusa 10 месяцев назад
When I looked into this, I found that they went into a joint venture with each other; maybe that means they are developing their new motors and other aspects of the platforms together. Or maybe they just used the KTM motor for the 800 NK and outsourced a different one for the 450. I did also read that CFMoto just recently went into a partnership with Yamaha, so all this might be changing on newer models.

@@motomaverickusa Cheers! I was watching the news about the now defunct KTM 450cc parallel twin because I was interested in getting a Vitpilen 401. When I heard it was cancelled I went ahead and got one, a 2022 model year. The 2024 Duke 390 is all new but the 2024 401s are not. They won't be all new until 2025.

For what I read, it was a collab between CF and KTM, to produce the already canceled 490 lineup

@georgekrpan3181 I know, but KTM wanted to make a parallel twin for the 490 line... and may be that's why they never finished it, because even with the 270° crankshaft, hasn't the full spirit of KTM; go and search about that 490 line (Duke, RC, SMC, Adv), and you'll see it's a twin

I’ve seen conflicting information on this; some sites says it does, others say it doesn’t. Maybe that changed by the year model?
