This was not a 2013 car promo event, as you probably know. 2011 car can be used without the same restrictions, as was recently debated in Paris!

Fantastic! Where else in West Sussex can you hear an F1 car screaming up the hill on a summers afternoon, than at Goodwood.

The one thing I've noticed about Lewis is whenever there is an event / demo run he always puts on a great show, even when he is with other f1 drivers, he sure pushes it to the limit, without it being dangerous, just have to compare this run to Nico's to see how much harder Lewis was pushing. I recall Lewis at Silverstone a few years ago, forgot the specific year but he was pulling off the track and doing donuts for the crowd after the race, and everyone was loving it!

A lot of that foamy sound is caused by the engine being so "loud and shrill" that it simply overwhelms the mic on the camera. It will happen to any type of audio recording device unless it is very specifically calibrated for the intense sound levels.

Yeah! A maximum of 8 events per season (max 100km per event) is allowed. Given that the teams use tires specifically for that purpose (i.e. not racing tires).

Go pro. The mics aren't great. But hey, It's a pretty video(I'm watching in 720P on a 52 inch HDTV...BETTER quality than CNBCs broadcast of the race, that's for sure). If you want sound quality...Feel free to send Merc AMG a mic.

the forces they are under during a race are much greater than a few donuts. and the tires can still be driven on when destroyed, they would just be really slow in a race

Nice to hear the sounds of a real engine not a couple of microwaves and a washer bolted together.

I imagine it was recorded on something like a GoPro, which certainly does not cost $10.
