*Great **Latest.Bike** . I upgraded the pedals, added fenders and installed a handle bar extension to raise them. Now it’s a pumped out E-Bike. I love it.*
I'm 45 years old 190 pounds 5'10 I bought the 500 series ride one up very inexpensive and I love it. With full pedal assist I can do 30 miles an hour and just hitting the throttle I can do 22 miles an hour. Of course this may vary some depending on how much charge your battery has left just like anything else. if your battery is low you might not be getting that much power out of it but if you're on a full battery that's the result I get
Thanks! That’s just what I’m looking for. Something that looks and feels like a real bike and not like a moped or a teeny-wheel commuter foldup, and with a reasonable price for those features. And it’s relatively lightweight for an ebike! I’m 74, I couldn’t pick a 70# bike up anymore. And it has to be light enough for two to go on the back on our camper van’s factory bike rack. (100# max). We just want to ride around the campground, into town or store, and maybe on scenic trails. Occasionally on dirt, but mostly paved. And they’re in the US! In Cal, where I live! I don’t want to have issues with a cheap POS with customer service thousands of miles away. (If at all) I think this just knocked the Juiced CrossCurrent S2 out of contention. (A very nice bike, beefier than this, a little bit more expensive, probably more bike than we need. And 10 pounds heavier, which is a major consideration.)
Recently got the 500.. I'm loving it. Solid, quality ride. I'd recommend it to anyone. A real game changer, especially for people who are getting older and don't have the mojo they used to have. You'll be going places on this bike like you were a kid again!
As other commenters have mentioned; as of mid 2020 the 500 Series motor is no longer Befang (now Shengyi) and the battery may also be different. In the video Micah makes a point to say his tester is using a battery with LG cells and I couldn't confirm if the battery listed currently at Ride1Up (Reention Dorado ID Plus) is also using LG cells. Something to be aware of since the motor and battery are very important parts of your e-bike.
Nice job! Does look like a great all-around choice for most people. It's awesome to see prices finally in the range where they don't seem crazy expensive. I knew we'd get there, it was just a matter of time.
The bikes being classified as motorcycles and being exempt from Tariffs really helps. These bikes are basically all the same with just a different label slapped on. What these guys do different is that they're willing to take far smaller profits.
Looking to get my first Ebike! Can’t decide between this one or the Lectric XP , they both have things about them that I want or don’t want. Probably can’t go wrong either way.
myles oneal Yes, I got the 500. It’s a great bike! It has gone up in price now. But the battery is stronger in the new one. There were times that I wish I had the XP simply for its ability to fold and transport easily. But if you don’t care about taking it places or you get a regular bike rack for your vehicle to transport it you can’t go wrong with the 500. It’s never let me down and I’ve never wished I had chosen something else.
Great review Micah, in have the bike and love it. Quick question, if you were to upgrade the seat for a more comfy seat what would you recommend? I ride my 500 a lot and getting a little sore. Thanks in advance. Mike
It looks like the battery and the motor have been changed out. What is the difference between the new battery (48V 13AH Reention Dorado ID Plus) and the new motor (Shengyi 48V 500w Geared Hub) and is it still something that is worth investing in?
@@mylesoneal4052 it’s a great bike. Has everything you would need. Feels sturdy and high quality. Also very zippy. Will make you smile. It’s has a good weight to power ratio. Looks sporty. I personally think it’s the best ebike for the money.
Nice review. Your channel is becoming one of my favorites. I picked up a RadCity Step thru 2019 version from their close-out sale. It reminds me of this bike. Built like a fricken tank, I am on the heavy side for it, and short.. hence the step thru. It's seems to haul my fat butt around just fine so far. I am happy with the Radpower at $999.00, but just could not pull the trigger for the $1500.00.
Wish you would include size availability. I be am 6'5" and 285lbs. Be nice to know if these bikes you review would even work for me. Standard bikes are to small.
well you seem a little too large. The only good bike(as far i have seen) that will fit someone like you is this one from juiced:lddy.no/ei5z This is the extra large version
Agreed, regen would be awesome! So hard to get a geared hub with it though because they almost all have clutches that prevent regeneration (so they can freewheel forwards).
