After 24 hours still loving this bike!
A few pointers:
1. If this is your first class 3 pedal assist eBike take is slow. only go up to level 2 or 3 on the pedal assist to start.
2. If your Cafe Cruiser has a squeal coming from the front tire it could be a dust cover on the axel. a tiny bit of grease on my finger fixed that problem immediately.
3. Link for how to correct derailer issues

Thanks for making it! Huge shout out to Apollo for answering my never ending string of questions as well! He really made the buying experience extra special. The Ride1Up team is doing a stellar job and I am proud to own one of your bikes!

Thanks for the reviews! Helps a lot, for us "on the fencers" relying on web site info only. Was leaning towards an Aveneton Aventure, but hearing a lot of horror stories about lack of customer service for defective battery issues as well as general support. My concern is the attach points for the rear carrier foot pegs. Being unused, they look like they could become an issue for catching on an ankle or shin. I know from mountain biking, Ive caught every body parts on just about anything that sticks out, especially on a lower/chain-stay area. Thang again!

I didn't pay much attention to that particular spot. I won't be home until Sunday but I can check that foot peg attachment location out for you. :)

Thanks for the high pitch sound resolution. I think I maybe having that same issue. I am going to test it out! By the way, you have your front wheel quick release pointing down. For safety reasons, it should be pointing up.

Hey Tyler, could you make a video with the Thule yepp mini? I gotta big boy and it would be nice to see how a baby looks on the 1up Cafe cruiser. Also, how hard was it to install the adapter?

Will pannier racks mount to the rear rack? My Ortleibs do not work with square tubing however the lower tubes appear to be round.

Not sure as I have not tried that brand. What is the width needed? I can grab a tape measure and see what it looks like if you let me know the dimensions.

Appreciate the review! Do you know if the beach cruiser swept back bars could be replaced for a set of straight handle bars or would the rider geometry not be ideal?
@Dadof5
@Dadof5 2 года назад
Not sure. But I think you would want to get the 700 series from Ride1Up. That's more that kind of style.

@@Dadof5 thanks for the reply. I was actually looking at the Core-5 as well. I’ll be using it to commute to work so nothing crazy in terms of aggressive riding. But I also have a daughter that I would like to take along with me for weekend rides so that is why the Cafe Cruiser is also appealing to me. The Core-5 is obviously cheaper but is also a smaller size which might make it more manageable while commuting from my home to downtown.
@Dadof5
@Dadof5 2 года назад
@@justinlee3799 I specifically got the Cafe Cruiser for the back seat. That way we can take a little one and one of the older kids on a ride at the same time. You can totally haul butt on the Cafe Cruiser, as for commuting it can totally pull it off. However it feels "chill", like it wants to meander to it's destination while enjoying the scenery. Still trying to define the feel of it....like a really relaxed badass. Lol.

Yes you can put straight handlebars on the cruiser. That's what I would do if I had that bike.

wow nice. im thinking of switching to an ebike to commute to work. would your recommend this as a daily commuter to work---say 16 miles per day and for grocery shopping? i currently have a specialized diverge and an aventon mataro they're all good for recreational purpose but for days i just want to get to point a to b without being sweaty or donning my cycling kit i wonder if this good throughout the year? btw does this have a throttle or is it pedal assist only?
@Dadof5
@Dadof5 2 года назад
I love riding this bike. It is both pedal assist and thumb throttle. It could handle that commute no problem.

i rode 250w version to work for 2 years, it's a different life, full of dangerous situations and encounters with some batshit crazy people) the fun part goes away when you have to ride it everyday, be aware of that) you get scratches on your legs, a bump here and there kicks your ass, headaches after non-stop runs

I'm debating between this and the 700 for my daily commute, which occurs in rain and snow as I recently went car free. What do you think the pluses and minuses are between this and the 700?
@Dadof5
@Dadof5 2 года назад
Depends. I had also considered the 700, but what sold me on the Cafe Cruiser was the seat option on the back. Had that feature not been present I would have gotten the 700.
@johng1857
@johng1857 2 года назад
@@Dadof5 Thanks. Is your body position on the bike upright like a Dutch bicycle or even more laid back like a typical cruiser?
@Dadof5
@Dadof5 2 года назад
@@johng1857 closer to a Dutch. For me it's not laid back, just relaxed.

I like the tires on the 700 more and the upgrade to Tekpro brakes vs. Zoom is nice. But I prefer the more swept back handlebars and larger, softer seat of the Cafe Cruiser. Plus, the 700 is $100 more. The Cafe Cruiser is definitely the better looking of the 2. Decisions, decisions.

Hey Tyler - thanks for the review. I'm 5 foot 8 - how do you feel about the reach to the bars?

You know, you most likely will be okay, I don't feel the like the bars are a reach for me at all and I am 6 foot.
