Because for the Americans we are basically casuals. Dave and busters and Main event are some places that are "Arcades" but fit right into the mix of unskillful players. As you can see some don't even go to the arcades anymore, for stupid reasons like "Oh, arcades are dead" Because I herd that Maximum Tune 5 ported over to the west recently and I got my hands on it for a few minuets. It was amazing and it was hosted in Round 1 amusement & bowling. There are some Cabinets around but its rare at this point in time... Best bet if there is no good arcade place around is to buy an arcade cabinet... Or emulation and get a decent wheel and pedals. Fuck the normies!

Usually, Namco-based arcades would have them. I remember a place I went to as a kid, Aladdin's Castle, and it had quite a few Namco machines... Ridge Racer 2, Tekken Tag 1, and Cyber Cycles, all in one space!

Hmm. Not true. Well in the 90s I’ve got to play RR1 and RR2. Coliseum mall in Hampton va had both rr1 and rr2 and universal studios in Orlando had them in 1996. But now. Good luck lol

The Deluxe cab with the 6-speed shit and clutch was actually more common in the UK. I also had the good fortune of playing Ridge Racer Full Scale, sitting in a replica Eunos Roadster with working controls, dials and 6 speed gearbox - all in front of a giant projector screen. Good times.

You’re correct. I’ve played only the deluxe cab of rr1 a few times in the 90s.

Here in Brazil I saw mode with 6 speed shifter and clutch in Novo Hamburgo city, about 1995 and 1998. Very difficult do play using clutch and 6 speed shifter.
