Good tip about sumping the tank of moisture. Sadly, a lot of people either forget to do this, don't know to do it, or just neglect to and it leads to a really dangerous condition. _Like exploding._

This is by far the best review channel on youtube for tools. You actually learn about the tools before doing videos. Most RU-vid tool reviews are people blabbing about pointless things for 5 minutes then showing a few things about the tool for 2. Good job at getting to the point and sticking to the topic.

I use a oiless 4 gallon Porter Cable pancake compressor.It has a 1.6 up motor and a max psi of 135. I have had it about 10 years for automotive and woodworking and it has done all I need it to do.Plus it is very affordable at about a 100 dollars. They have changed in size the past few years but there still pretty much the same.

I picked up the Ridgid 18 gauge battery power nailer for $200, mainly to avoid lugging around my compressor. The 20 pound compressor you reviewed paired with the much smaller (on sale 18 ga and 24 ga air nailers both for $99 at Home Depot would have been a better pick for working on cabinets) I have a hard time getting the larger nailer into tight spaces) I saved at least $1,500 by doing the work on my kitchen myself so... The wife will not complain if later the air tools make it into my box. My work crew love the cordless nailer for shooting in trim in rental houses that we are repairing. If you put the tool to work they all quickly pay for themselves. Thank you for the review : )

Nothing to brag about, but my current Air Compressor is a Harbor Freight 2HP 29Gal 150psi Belt Driven model. Item #61489. I've had mine for a couple years now. My old Montgomery Wards air compressor tank has a leak in it, so I stopped using it and bought a new compressor. The Harbor Freight compressor helped me do all the base trim in my house after replacing the carpeting with laminate flooring, as well as many tire inflation duties, air impact wrenches, etc. The compressor handles all these tasks pretty easily, however it takes about 8 minutes for the compressor to fill up that 29 gallon tank. No big problem there, I just turn the compressor on and do other tasks while it fills up. This compressor is plenty large enough to do all the tasks I need, and to run high demand air tools occasionally.

Really like this for the sake of taking it on the road for tires or even airbags that pickup truck owners can install to help with towing, and any other small potential jobs that could come up. I will not be buying this though because I have all Milwaukee tools and I prefer to stay with one brand, battery system, and charging system. Hopefully someday Milwaukee with come out with something similar and if so I'll be all over it.

wow, this looks like a great compressor for small jobs. I think professional handyman will love these, especially if they already have some Ridgid batteries. I use a Ridgid 6 gallon, I'm not sure what the model is, but I got it in a combo pack with a 16ga nailer, an 18ga nailer, and an air powered stapler if that helps figure out the model. I have used it professionally for about 4 years now, and it's still going strong

I have an 80 gallon, 5HP Champion 2-stage vertical that I use for my main shop compressor, a 30 gallon horizontal Champion with a 13 HP Kohler engine, and various other smaller compressors - and I'm still thinking about buying this. Part of the reason is that I'm pretty heavily invested in the Ridgid 18V lineup already, and the sheer portability and convenience of this looks like it would really fill a niche.

My compressor is a Craftsman 8-gal, dual cylinder, oiled model. the date stamp on the piston housing says 1984, it rolled out of my friend's garage for a cool $20. It tops out at 100 psi so it doesn't have the balls for anything too substantial, but it fills fast with the dual cylinders. The only tools I have are cutoff wheel, air hammer, and of course an air chuck, and it runs them well enough

All you need is a 10' hose, no need for 50'. Sometimes driving 4 framing nails at a time is all you needed, same as removing lug nuts if you're willing to trade speed with time.

@barthchris1
@barthchris1 7 лет назад
Why do you say that?
@barthchris1
@barthchris1 7 лет назад
Ryobi did used to make bottom of the barrel crap years ago but they've stepped up their game . I used to be a Milwaukee guy until I bought a Ryobi combo set on sale at HD. It was going to be for the home only but once I tried the impact driver the 18V Milwaukee tools at work started being replaced with Ryobi. I bought the 18V Ryobi brushless hammer drill recently and its a beast, it really is a good tool. I've been a commercial/industrial construction electrician for 20+ yrs, after the switch to Ryobi some 12yrs ago I've used and abused them almost every day for the last 12yrs without a problem. If I ever had a problem it was my fault from dropping off a ladder/burning the motor from being impatient and trying to cut steel with a 4" hole saw on high speed. Lol!

Home Depot recently had the bare tool ones on the clearance shelf for $50. They still sell the same thing on the website for $180. Not sure if it's being discontinued or they're just not selling well enough in stores that they'll just sell online exclusively. Almost got one but like it's shown here it's too small for taking off lug nuts, which is why I really wanted an air compressor.
@RealToolReviews
@RealToolReviews 7 лет назад
+cardsfanbj Home Depot dumps any product that isn't a huge seller within the first month on the shelf --- except Husky items that they own outright. Just like the RIDGID Gen5X miter saw kit....superior to the Dewalt version, but didn't sell as many & never got physical shelf space (only in the holiday promo section & briefly on an end cap prior to being clearanced out). Tools make up a very small percentage of their overall sales, so one item never is a big deal to them.

I think your math is WAY off. I counted $520 to buy the compressor, 2x 5ah batteries, and a dual-sequential charger. The Milwaukee 18ga brad nailer kit is $349, within spitting distance of $200 cheaper than the compressor combo. The real kicker is that the 6 gal Ridgid pancake compressor is just $99.
@RealToolReviews
@RealToolReviews 7 лет назад
+EFormance Engineering it will run off of one battery....compressor ($200) + nailer ($70) + hose ($20) = $290 if you are already in the RIDGID lineup. Multiple times each year they have the buy-1-get-1 battery deals for $99....2 Milwaukee nailers = $700+

Do you recommend that I buy a small cordless compressor and use air tools with it? I'm thinking about DeWalt's compressor, because I have most of DeWalt's 20V line up and I have Flex-volt batteries. Usually I just need a brad nailer for really small projects and I have DeWalt's fast charger available. I did buy a cordless nailer but it was lost during shipping, so I took this chance to look for a better solution for a nailer. Any Suggestions? Thanks!

Brad nailers would be fine....dont expect to use framing nailers or impact wrenches with it effectively. But low air consumption tools are 100% ok.
