A real spud wrench is more like an adjustable wrench with a pointed end for aligning bolt holes in ironwork. Also, a thin flashing line doesn’t not automatically mean it’s a casting, it’s just tighter tolerance higher quality dies. I’d almost guarantee those are forged. Why would rigid cast these and forge the almost identical forged pipe wrenches...?
That was my understanding, but ridgid officially calls these spuds. Milwaukee calls them smooth jaw pipe wrench but I've heard them called monkey wrenches. My grandpa had several from when nuts and bolt were primarily square instead of hex.
