(October 2022) Today we check out a Garaventa Stair-Lift. These are accessibility lifts that go up along handrails of stairs. This particular one is really interesting because it doesn't travel a long distance, but it does a full 180 degree turn around the railing. Enjoy a very in depth overview of one of these lifts and then a ride on it!

That chime reminds me something you hear from those elevators outside the United states. I can't remember the country though.

Very Cheap Lifts in Europe tend to have a Chime like this lift.

I haven't heard that chime in over 15 years... scared the shit out of me as a kid, school had one and I refused to go anywhere near it Should be pretty easy to remake that chime though... it just seems to be three square tones of varying frequencies

How does the worm drive work? Does it run inside the "tube" the lift rides on?

It’s a rope and ball cable that does run inside the tube.

I remember riding a Garaventa Wheelchair 🦼 🦽 ♿️ Lift, that was 💯 exactly like this! It was at My Old Middle School, but the controller and Lift platform, etc. was completely modernized or replaced. That chime can get very annoying after a bit. It didn’t have a weird chime like that at all though.
