Instagram - AdamTheWooATW Around the 15:31 mark you can see the camera flinch and my slight ouch from right hand which was holding my glasses hit metal pole out of frame causing me to drop what I was holding . That’s gonna leave a mark
My grandfather used to maintain those trains at griffith park. before that place first opened, me and the rest of his grand kids got to ride and control the trains. One of my fondest moments growing up.
My parents took me to Griffith park in the late 1950’s great memories. They filmed a lot of episodes of Mister Ed there. Thanks for stirring up memories of times I had with Mom and Dad !
I was having a bad day and was so glad to come home from work and have TheDailyWoo waiting for me. Something about your videos always relaxes me. Thanks Woo you saved the day.
I've lived in LA my entire life and you have shown me things which I never knew existed. Such as the house that MJ died in, and the LA-96 Nike Missile control site. Thank You.
Griffith Park sure brings back great child hood memories ,my Grandparents took me to these place all the time like every summer , I used to have fun at these place , I love these place
I remember this amazing place. My parents would take us here when we were little. When my nephew was little i would take him too. Then later I took my own kids here. I think I'm going back soon.
Haven't been to Griffith park in over 50 years. Nice to see it again on video. I remember the train museum was there then. Good to see the newer rides have been put in too.
Chuck Dellano True! Why didn’t I ride that as a kid? Spent plenty of time at the zoo... Ok, I thought the Tilden train was in Berkeley, but it’s actual address is Orinda, in case anyone’s looking for it.
Hi Adam so nice to see you having Dani 702 with you on your adventure that place is so cool I’ve driven by there many times but never have stop now since you showed me the whole place I want to go there thanks for letting me tag along on your adventure and yes i will be watching Dani 702 vlog because i subscribe to her channel too thanks again see you on the next vlog
Here is a 'for the record", at 19:15 you have an exchange of thanks with the engineer of the LiveSteamers train. That was former LAPD Ron Bergmann - retired. It is with great sadness to report that he passed back in May, 2021. I was well acquainted with him, his wife Joyce and daughter Elizabeth. God Bless and Ron - RIP.
Wow! That is so cool. My Dad would have loved all those trains. He owned about 25 G-Scale trains and always wanted to have a riding train in the back yard. He became ill and just passed 2 weeks ago. This video has meant a lot to me. Thank you for sharing this with us.🚂❤
love it when Dani joins your vids !!!!! and its even better when you are riding trains at Griffith Park, some of the best rides, aside from the Skunk train in Fort Bragg, in Cal !!! thanks guys !!
We needed something happy to take our minds off yesterday’s horrific news. RIP to all 9 passengers on Kobe’s helicopter- May their families and friends find peace and comfort knowing we all share your grief and loss.Kobe is a legend forever! Sending prayers and sympathy your way.
What a wonderful place! My granddad loved trains and so do I. Old Sacramento is a good place to see trains and brush up on the history of the rail road.
I'd love to ride all those trains but sadly will never get the opportunity to, the last place was especially goid.Dani is really nice, caliente in my opinion you're a lucky guy.
I did the first train and the last train when I was in California almost 3 years ago. Had so much fun. Those mountains looked so familiar! Made me want to go back LOL! The first train reminded me a lot of Silver Dollar City
Adam really has a knockout for a friend ! When he kneeled down I thought he was really going to pop the question ? LOL 😆 !! Keep up the great job Adam !!!
I Love Magic! , I think their both very talented and only one knows how their significant other is in the relationship, hopefully it’s strong, my late wife I had total faith in her ! I had her cheat on me once but worked through it !!!
I regularly operate a private 7.5” gauge train (both steam and electric) near my home in Va.. We do all of the things the real railroads do. It’s a lot of work but extremely fun. Very cool video!
Very cool! Reminds me of a place I believe was called Tiny Town in Colorado. Same deal, little train and small building replicas along the way. I was maybe 7 or 8 at the time... I haven't thought about that in ages! Thanks for the memories ❤️
Can’t wait to watch this video. I lived in Atwater Village from 84 to 92. My dad would take us to Griffith every week. Los Feliz/Atwater is so awesome. I always look for a hotel is this area when I visit LA.
The engineer was waving. Conductors do not operate trains. The original operator of what is now GP&S, was Swope Railways, who purchased the first Miniature Train Company G16 streamliner. They improved the railroad, even installing working block signals. Then the LA City counsel decided to throw Swope out, because it was based in Kansas. It has never been as good as it was since. I rode it numerous times in the 1950's. That G16 streamliner is now at a private estate in Lodi, California.
I love watching your videos after a long night at work. Your voice is calming and videos entertaining. You've replaced the bob ross videos I used to watch to decompress. Now I enjoy you on your happy little adventures.
Love the railroad parks! They are in pretty tough shape but I hope the owners hold on and get some railfan volunteers to help them with perserving what they have 😁
Adam, thank you so much for taking us w/you. You reminded me of the little train ride that was across the street from the old bbq place in Daytona beach. We used to love going on that thing, it went through woods & across water. I forgot about that until you did this video! It was on nova road or canal road. Those were some happy days for us as kids. thank you for the memories!
Griffith Park is on my list of places to visit in April. I didn’t know about the train ride. My granddad had a train just like that first one setup in his backyard when I was little. He gave all the neighborhood kids a ride.
Great vlog, Adam. In all the years I lived in SoCal (1969 - 1985 and then 1990-2004) never got to Griffith Park to ride those little trains. The Travel Town ones I did, but not the others. So cool!
Hey U2 . Back in Vancouver . It was around EXPO86 . They held a Steam EXPO . There were Steam Engines from all over North America there . Maybe even some European . Stuff . Ones that had been in Old Westerns . You could find out where those Old Steamers are . And film the journey as it will take you through places you never thought you'd go .
I need to go there living in L.A. all my life and I never been there, Thanks Adam this will be a to do list before summer comes. My comment is over!!!!
Adam, unrelated to this video... As a trucker of 30 years, I am confused as to WHY oranges are hauled from FL to CAL... And from CAL to FL! I would think there must be a difference in oranges grown in the two places. Since you have lived in both FL & CAL you are the best person to ask.
Thank you Adam for going out of your way always getting the best footage i enjoy all your video's they are very interesting i always feel like I've been there Lol..you get the best footages and, the quality of the outdoors on your video's are amazing ..i love it !..i got my notification bell on all the time i don't want to miss out on video... Love to see the amazing places you go..WOW ! Thanks for being a savage for us Daily woo fams.. 🙏❤👍📷 🎥 📹 🚙 🚗
Covering all the many things I didn't do before I moved from SoCal. Been by this trainset quite a few times, but never got an opportunity to ride it. But, we got quite a few, large trainsets like this out here in NM. Some like the ones shown here in Griffith Park. And others more akin to Knott's Berry Farm and Disney up in the mountains!!
Just before you two gotoff, the last shed contains a red (needs to be repainted) cariage wuth two oval windows, that used to run in the East Bay and part of Marin County in the greater San Francisco Bay are. In Perris near San Bernardino or Riverside is the Orange Empire Railway Museum. Thereis another one of these suburban carriages the 'Blimp' cars which is fully restored and is electric and runs a few km or so at the museum property.
I go to the Autry Western Heritage Musem, right across from the zoo and near Travel Town I think. Now a hayride pulled by a horse is the real thing, not a little tractor. You might want to check out a nice one hour trail ride on the Griffith Park Trails. I go to Studio Rentals (which also has some of their horses in movie shoots) at 910 S. Mariposa St., Burbank. One hour ride is only $30 and a $5.00 tip to the guide is a nice gesture. Good horses and once you go over the swing bridge, you are on the Griffith Park Trails.
Dear Adam. I am grateful for your videos! "In love" with them... watching them from waaay back, several copies daily. Sooo enjoyable! Many THANKS - from Canada.
Thank you for reminding me of all the trains I have ridden as a child, From the Houston Zoo train to Silver Dollar City, Branson, Astroworld, Houston, Dallas Zoo, we rode one in a small Mom and Pop amusement park in Virginia, one at a resort in Jew Jersey, even the monorail in the Miami zoo. I was so fortunate to be a child growing up in the late 60s early 70s because there were several Miniature parks with rides, most having trains ( lol before they had safety standards lol). Ya know we didn't wear bike helmets and drank from water hoses. This made me also realize how fortunate I was to be one of the engineers at the miniature train at Camp's Junction in Beaumont, Texas around 1979. I remember riding a small train in New Mexico after we left Carlsbad Caverns (along with the most jarring Stage Coach Ride). I love your channel! I Find the obscure is grand but venturing into the places abandoned from yesteryear, places I had been to or we passed on our many road trips all of my life. I went to 12 different schools growing up, lived in 15 different states, I have been to 35. It taught me to etch these types of things in my memory because I would probably never pass this way again, as they say. It taught me to never meet a stranger but has also taught me never to tell someone good bye because I have met so many wonderful people in my life and had to leave them. Sadly it sorta made me cherish them while they were with me and to mentally block them out when I moved. I can probably name most of the kids in my classes growing up and have something they did as a memory and you have tapped my soul. Thank you for the journey once again! God Bless... keep all hands and feet inside the car... they warn you for a reason. PS. Why didn't you wave your hands? He said he would stop the train and go back and get what was lost.
@@fredholley6248 Mainly I remember it was maybe somewhere between maybe Charlottesville and Roanoke on our way down to 77 (which used to scare the begeebers out of me lol). I remember seeing the forest and mountains from the place. In one of the pictures Mom has you can see nothing but trees in the back ground other than a fence. So there are no landmarks to verify. Sorry, I remember obscure things, The train car I rode in was blue but had a red seat from the picture, I remember Daddy went to KFC and brought us back lunch so he didn't have to ride anything with us lol and we ate at the picnic tables, I remember the bucket.
@@fredholley6248 I haven't seen the pictures in a couple years but it could have yellow lol I remember my brother was wearing one of those yellow/brown stripe shirts and yellow shorts lol I remember the strangest things lol
Cool video. You should come to Scranton, PA and see the train museum, Steamtown historical society train and trolley station. Train and trolley rides are available on the full-size restored models, plus the restoration shop is accessible.
What a cool place, and I love trains. thanks for sharing. Next time "keep your hand inside the rid cart at all times". All the rides you have been on you should know better LOL hope you heal fast.
