When I find myself bleeding from head to toe, it can only mean one thing.... Desert season never disappoints. Join Alex Petitdemange and I as we explore some of the lesser know bits of Payson, AZ. This classic section of the AZT starts out in what looks to be a botanical garden, groomed to perfection, but ends in the usual desert fist-fight that we love so very much. Gold Ridge should be on your list if you ever find yourself with a MTB near Phoenix. Big thanks to the people that keep this savage trail pruned up and rideable. Super sweet!!!! I live in Phx and have heard about Gold Ridge but haven't gotten ther yet. How long was the shuttle up to the top of GR from the 87? Or if you rode up how long did that take. 😊 ....and ballpark estimate for how long did it take you and Alex to get down? (I'll take that figure and multiply it by 4 to figure my time...if I'm riding fast. 😂😂😂) Awesome video....thanks for bringing us along!!!!

We rode this as a loop and shuttled out the 2 miles of highway pavement at the bottom to avoid the road. It was 16 miles, 3400ft of climbing. 2.5 hours on the gas.
