Riding Disney's Tron Lightcycle Roller Coaster At Night! | Back Row, Modified Seats & Front Row POVs

In today’s vlog we head to Disney World’s Magic Kingdom for a night ride on the Tron Lightcycle Run Roller Coaster! We were able to ride in the back row in a lightcycle, in the back row on a light rover which is the modified seating car and then finally in the front row on a lightcycle. It was amazing! Riding it at night is definitely lots of fun and makes for a completely different experience. We answered more of your questions that that we didn’t get to answer in our last vid and we were able to see more of the lighting effects on the canopy. It was so cool to see all of the different colors of the canopy. We even caught the fireworks from back in the Tron queue area! Afterwards we rode Haunted Mansion and had the sweet and spicy chicken and waffle sandwich to end our awesome night! We even got to see Mickey and Minnie as we were leaving the park. It's insane how short this ride is. I'm super excited for it but I can't imagine waiting in line for an hr+ just to ride for ~2 mins. Really wish they made it longer.

The track length is around the same as space mountain, the reason why the ride is so short is because the ride goes so fast

From the POV footage, it felt longer of a ride from the back due to being able to see or catch more of the graphics. This was particularly evident from the modified seats. I personally just want to be on any cycle. It looks as if you’re in the game!

When I first saw Tron Legacy in IMAX 3D, I immediately fell in love with the CGI and the neon animation!! Even the Disney opening intro. So cool! Now this magical, magnificent piece of artwork has come to life and can't WAIT to be apart of the experience!! I'm praying I can get my AP preview email tomorrow!!!

Got to the “select a day I wanna go” and it sold out. I’ve been waiting years for this. 😞. So now I’ll have to wait till it opens in April…and pray to God I can get a boarding pass. When ROTR opened at Galaxy’s Edge, it was 2 years until I was able to get on. Only because I have a disability, I kinda have a better chance? I wanna have a good time at Disney without the hassle of trying to get on a ride

Thank you for trying out the "rover". That will be me. While I would fit in the cycle it would be way too painful for me to try and ride. So thrilled to know the alternative is just as fun!!

The experience on the Light cycle is so awesome and not uncomfortable at all. Now I know some larger/taller people that did ride on the cycle and had no issues at all but I am glad if you just don't fit you can still ride. Its awesome either way and if your a fan of Tron this is so freaking amazing.

Thanks Tim, I want to make a trip again to WDW with all the new rides. Tron seems like such a mellow ride, and the car style seat would be a great to try out. I think they should add that option to each vehicle to allow more people to experience it. Anxious to watch ATW to vlog on it

since you rode in the back using both types of stats, do you believe you lose any of the experience using the modified seats? whether that be story or g forces? do you think there are any real disadvantages to having to ride in the modified seating?

The only thing you lose probably is just the extra mental immersion of feeling like you're really riding a lightcycle by laying stomach downward on it, other than that the thrill of it should be the same.

There will be an on-ride photo during the coaster’s launch and there will be PhotoPass photographer around the TRON area taking pictures of guests in the canopy and with coaster trains passing by!

Watching all your Tron videos, it seems like you get to appreciate the story and the lighting of the ride from the back row. I would love to be able to get on it later this year. That reveal from the wall into the viewing deck is very cool. BTW, why does anyone need to take their phone with them on the ride??

Because per Disney: "You can relive your race through this dark, computerized world when you preview an onboard photo and video automatically linked to your My Disney Experience account through one of the following methods: "Use your eligible mobile device, enable Bluetooth for the My Disney Experience app* before riding, ensure you’ve logged into the My Disney Experience app* sometime earlier that day, and keep your device out of low power mode. Make sure your mobile device boards your Lightcycle with you and is safely stored in the small Lightcycle compartment to use this method. OR: "Wear a MagicBand or MagicBand+ that’s linked to your My Disney Experience account."

Wanted to get a passholder preview but they sold out even though I waited in the queue for three hours!! Oh well I wasn’t planning on being there during that time anyway and was thinking about driving up and back in one day which would be about 7 hours of driving so not ideal. Hopefully they add more but I’m still not holding out on it happening especially as I’ll be there March 28 and 29 and I don’t think they’ll go that late. Oh well just have to wait to the end of April to ride I guess🤷🏼‍♀️

The back rest is for comfort, it is not part of the restraint system. You are locked in by the pins at your knees.

I don't think so, Space is so rough that I dont think riding Tron would be bad. Its so smooth and fast that it really doesn't give you that feeling. Now every one is different so it might be a try it and see situation. I have heard of people who get motion sick on some rides had no real issue with Tron. Again every one is different. Hope that helps .

So, I timed it and it is less than 2 minutes total ride time and not including the slow crawl to the start and slow crawl back to unloading, it is right around 59 seconds of ride. It looks fun but I would not be happy if I waited an hour (or two!) for that. I am very happy to see the inclusion of the modified seats which makes the ride much more inclusive. Props to Disney for that continued consideration.

I saw somebody get on space mountain with a cane and the cast member took it and must’ve brought to where you get off because it was waiting with the cast member there, I’d guess it’s similar to that!

Hey Tim! The canopy and the music are actually synced! About every 26 or so minutes the show restarts and theres certain sections where team orange shows up and the music gets intense causing the canopy to go orange!
