Relevant topic. When you live where you can ride year round... Did a few (small) loops up on Burke yesterday. Wind blowing hard. Power pole on fire after something big took the line down... Dark and hazardous in the woods. Hearing thump thwak thump all around me as big things fall from those old growth trees. Rode swiftly with the anticipation that something was going to clock me on the head at any moment. ...The bike perfomed wonderfully. Tracked with confidence. Hugged the ground. Kept composure over a multitude of oily roots. What did I do to the bike to prepare? 18 psi in tires. Few clicks slower on the rebound. And I let a psst of air out of the fork to soften up the nose... probably about 30% sag... and no less.

Hi Rémy, how do you ride only 20psi without loosing your tire in every corner? Is it because the DH casing is so stable? I ride about 29 to 31psi and i love the feeling of stability in the tires to be more predictable. Do you know what i mean?
@remymetailler
@remymetailler 3 года назад
Yes it depends a lot on your tire but also weight and where you push on the corner. When riding low pressure you have to adapt your riding to avoid burping air. That being said I have never lost air even when making mistakes.
@partyongarth0
@partyongarth0 3 года назад
Leander Hovestadt a lot of track pump gauges tend to over-read by about 10psi. A couple of my friends said they ran 30 psi until I actually put a digital gauge on their tyre and turns out they’re running 17-20. If you think remy is running low pressures I’m running 15 in the front with a rimpact tyre insert. 25 in the back though for me. All personal preference I guess!

@Allsystemsaredown
@Allsystemsaredown 3 года назад
Eat less cake? Or, more helpfully...Push down firmly beforehand to get your body moving upwards, then relax your arms and legs a bit so your not pushing your weight through the bike so much. This means you sink down towards the bike again so you can only do it for short distances. You need to time it to match the terrain and where you can get some grip in between.
