I've never been to Greenland, but I was in Iceland back in 2014 and fell in love with how beautiful those Icelandic horses were! :) Lovely to meet you on Facebook!

Thank you! Greenland is a very special place and I would definitely recommend it though its not easy to get there! We did all modes of transportation in the country though :P Flights, Helicopter, boats and horses! I guess the only thing we didn't do was dog sledding

Although I've just seen they don't cater for vegetarians at all which is a real shame.

Its a spectacular place! Truly one of my all time favorite places for the sheer uniqueness of it. It's like stepping on another planet

@@samradion There are no vegetables grown in Greenland. Everything you find in the shops is imported (yes there are little shops you can buy some food and supplies if necessary) however I wouldn't say you will find much fresh fruits and veggies, probably frozen or cans is best. Also, the "fresh stuff" is expensive and simply not worth it if your there for a holiday. There are many countries where meat is the only real food source (like Mongolia) and so its best to connect with other vegetarians who've explored those places to get some ideas on how to manage your meals

Equestrian Adventuresses yeah totally understand. I have heard Mongolia Is getting better particularly for vegetarian tourists but I can see why it's not as easy when everything is shipped in.

@@samradion It is a strange place and to be honest the whole time I was there I kept wondering... HOW DO PEOPLE SURVIVE HERE?!?! Though I obviously saw them living there, it is still a place that I feel is an interesting place to live! Most of the Greenlandics live off of fishing. They also do eat seal and whale meat (though I didn't have any.) In the south of Greenland they have sheep but it's actually cheaper for Greenland to import sheep meat than to eat the sheep meat from south Greenland. So it's a unique place to try to live and I would definitely struggle if I lived there permanently as I'm not much of a fish eater myself!

Are the horses pure Icelandics or a mix? What an amazing place!

They are all Icelandic's! Some from Iceland and others bred in Greenland but no horses come from Greenland so they are all from Iceland at some point in their history.
