Hey guys I hope you enjoy this video of my old pal Carl Fogarty and I riding up in the beautiful Lake District recently for Ducati. Even the weather didnt put us off! Cheers Charley www.Charleyboorman.com
Charley, I borrowed The Long Way Round DVD from a family member and ended up keeping it, I rewatched it that many times I could copy word for word what you and Ewan would both say. I was 9 back in 2004 and I've wanted a motorcycle ever since, I am now 28 and have finally got myself a KLR650 to bomb around on, dirt or road. I live in Tassie and to hear you say that we have the best stretch of road to ride on gave me goosebumps! I would love to shake your hand one day, or maybe see you on the Tassie roads, and say thank you for the inspiration and viewing pleasure you've given me. - Jacob
Wow.... I'm very privileged to ride Tasmania annually, and it is special. However, I never would I have thought it to be known to Charlie, yet alone espoused as the best road he's ridden!
Hello, gentlemen. It's a pleasure to see you and spend some time with you at least like this. Thank you very much and I send greetings from the Czech Republic to all the good people.
I stayed in Keswick for a bit back in ‘78 as a teenager. One of many stops in our months long journey through the uk, but very memorable. When I went hiking through Killarney some many years later, there was a definite flashback. All very beautiful. Good vid. 👍🤪🏳️🌈
@@flippy66 always under Italian supervision bro. It's like sending machinery designed and engineered in Thailand or Brazil to Italy, Always Brazilian or from Thailand. Don't try taking credit for something not your brothers!. Tge other countries just put the bits together, period.
Brilliant video thanks Charlie! Been a big fan since the Long Way series, and great to see the Legend that is Carl Fogarty 👍🏻 Love the lakes was there this year on my own Multi.
I still have my 1974 Ducati 750 Sport I bought when I was 20. I now have a left knee replacement and a right ankle replacement so it’s a bit of a crap shoot deciding which leg to use starting. A few ibuprofens help as well once I get going. But what a Spartan piece of metal. A total hoot to take down the road.
Bloody hell Carl ! Time flies ,,, I remember Caldwell park in the eighties ,, You , Whitman , lofthouse ,, seems like last year ,,, good to see you are in decent shape ,
Haha ,, oh that red wine and predictive typing ! cadwell , Whitham and me changing tyres in the bloody rain for Lofthouse ! Loved every minute and miss those Proam LC s , production class ,, bloody hell ,, remember Kenny Irons ? He was quick .
I watched Foggy as a young budding rider . He along with guymartin shaped my racing style allowed me to have some serious fun . Foggy is a true legend . I would love to have taken partin a ride like the long way down. I am now watching streams about riding accross India . Thanks for a good stream . lets jut see what fun you both get up to .
Great content and really well shot. Nice to see two legends of the motorcycle world still just having fun on bikes. The lake district is indeed a fantastic part of the UK to ride -second only to North Wales =). This reminds me that perhaps it's time for us to make a tour of the UK series for our channel ....The 'Heading West Tour' perhaps =). Sean and Emily
Well done for naming your favourite road being in Tasmania Charley. I lived on the West Coast at Zeehan for a year or so and rode the road to Hobart weekly, always a buzz! Born and bred here and still love the West Coast roads after almost 400,000kms on bikes :) Over the last year or so I have completed 24,000kms around the Australian mainland but I still love Tassie best.
Hi both greetings from Thailand Carl is a icon when I lived in UK went to see him racing and also in assen fantastic days missing biking in UK and Europe too bloody hot for riding here and drivers are all mad here great show
oh man, just get next season underway and i will be back down to the Lakes from Jockland Charles, great video. watching you guys reminds me of riding with my pals, no heroics, no bollocks but taking the piss at ever opportunity
You know, I really dont care about the content in specific cause, yeah its Ducati. They build nice bikes. The Desert X is great yeah. Gonna buy it. But why I am really here is Charley. Man you inspired so many people with your trips around the world and the way you just are and I sincerely hope you can enjoy life to the fullest. Just rewatched Long Way Round, different times man. Different times.
Without the long way round I dont think I’d have a motorbike. Rewatched last winter and just felt the need for adventure. Finally got my license a month ago. Happy days!
@903lew them trips are the reason I became a motorcycle instructor mad I know but I wanted to pass on the adventure and passion for bikes like what they shown in LWR
Luv charley and Carl, big fan I still have my Carl foggarty replica winning race helmet from over 20 years ago. Wish I could go for a ride with both of you
Brilliant chat and ride of two of my favourite biking legends!!! Shame on Ducati’s though (BMW for me!!😂) but also great to see them having a good old boys chat at Askham Hall which co-incidently was where my Son got Married in August this year!! A great venue!!!
Memory lane trip. My brother and I both out of work decided to go from Bristol to Donnington Park on my Yamaha FZR1000 EXUP to watch the superbike race. Arrived no money for a ticket to get in founda Fowlers van parked next to the wall managed to climb up onto it in full leathers over the wall which wasnt so easy . Later went into the infield just by following the crowd in and sat by the Spitfire on Craner curves drinking our beers when Carl Foggarty a great funny guy and a superb racer fell off at Craner curves and came and sat with us turned down a beer as he had another race. What it was to be so young and free. Totally true story.
I've read 'The Long Way Round' and enjoyed it, also I've been presented with a 'Best in Show' award by Foggy's dad, oh and I own a Ducati, so there you have it.
GDay from down under, was a buzz to hear that your your favourite ride was down hear in Tassie and you are coming back through soon, I live in a town along the Lyall hwy between Hobart and Strahan. I am semi retired now and I dont need an excuse to go out for a ride, but now I have one. Hopefully I might see you down here and I will shout you a beer or two.
We can all have views on how people react in Videos, bit you have to respect what these guys have achieved, I would give my hind teeth to have experienced a fraction of what they have done i their lives, massive respect fella’s 🙌🏼😎👍🏼 awesome video ❤
8:33 I remember doing a similar thing with a mate when I first got my bike through an unmarked Ford in South Warrington. Actually pissed myself laughing which was pretty uncomfortable for the ride home as you can imagine. 😂
Excellent video of our local area, giving it some down the lane up from Pooley Bridge though.... When you were in Steds garage you should have popped into the pub 😉
Charley, interesting fact, the TEO on your Reg plate, EO used to be the registration letters for the Barrow in Furness area, south end of the Lake District. (EC was Kendal)
We were in the Lakes & Yorkshire Dales a couple of weekends ago. Landed in Hawes Sunday lunchtime. I've never seen so many Ducatis jamming the town up. Were you guys anything to do with that?
Just came across your video Charlie . Never had much to do with watching you sorry, but found this video quite entertaining, so now following you. A friend of Carls was mates with me years ago before he passed away. He to was a biker RIP Mark.
I think charley and foggy would make a great duo for some motorcycle adventures content on you tube or cable, north and south, we might be seeing something in the making here please!!!!!!!
Have to say, sitting on a Desert-X made me feel very little. I’m 5“7 and that’s sufficient for my GS, just not enough to feel comfortable on the Ducati. How unfortunate, love the bike
I don't listen to music in metropolitan areas anymore. I was in fantastic mood once, in Brisbane, Australia and had the music in the helmet, Deep Purple, Machine head and was about to pull away from the kerb and there was a guy crossing the road and I was indicating go, go across and the guy on the kerb was messing around. I'd already looked for traffic and just jumped out but got collected buy a brand new ute. If I had ears, I would have heard it. 🙂
I had the privilege, and I don't use that word lightly, to watch the 1992 TT from Kirk Michael in the sunshine. A titanic battle between Carl and Steve. I wanted Steve Hislop to win for no other reason that me and my mates met him in a cafe in Douglas that week and he was an absolute gentleman to us. He was with his girlfriend and gave a us some of his valuable time. He was so modest and down to earth. I admire Foggy massively but if one rider is on a Yamaha and the other on a Norton, who are you gonna support?!! Steve's early demise was an absolute shame.
Favorite road: the next in an open land Greatest achievement: seeing some of my learnings helped others Ducati of choice: 900SL white frame yellow Favorite Ride: Morocco Atlas-Anti-Atlas Bike should have never sold: T140D Ride alone/mates: short with mates, long without New Ducati Dreambike: A Ducati V2 Troy Bayliss Panigale bought and signed by Davide Tardozzi, Carl Fogerty in Bologna
Watched till 5 mins when foggy told you were babbling on, 👏👏, try greatest road in the uk , spat my tea out when u said other side of the world, un realistic.pal & your a bit of a yes man really. All the best.
