@@ballyday4994 We're sorry to hear about the mix-up with your bus tickets. To make sure you both can travel together, it's best to contact the bus company's support team directly. They can help you with adjusting the booking and ensuring you and your wife can choose seats on the same bus. If you have booked Willer bus, here's the link to their FAQ, which might also have some helpful information: willer.my.site.com/en/s/?_bdsid=2GT~zm.oXMpsPu.1713430187230.1713430207 Wishing you both a smooth resolution and a pleasant journey!
Nice video Karlo! Thanks for the comprehensive guide. I'm just wondering if you roughly remember what the name (of the city/town) of each restroom stop is? Many thanks! :)
Hi @Ichew2001 The bus we rode didn't have a bathroom onboard. However, Willer Bus does have other buses with bathrooms that you can choose for your trip.😊
hello Karlo, thanks for your explanation in this video. I really want to ask about how comfortable sleeping on a night bus? Can you describe a little bit? And how about instruction from the driver for the rest area etc, will it be clear enough since I can't speak Japanese? Thanks
Hi there! Personally, we found sleeping on a night bus quite comfortable, especially with reclining seats. Regarding instructions, many buses in Japan, including the one we rode, offer announcements in English, so you should be fine even without speaking Japanese. Safe travels!
Hi, here’s Willer bus user guide luggage willerexpress.com/en/guide/luggage/?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjwrvyxBhAbEiwAEg_KgoYO4dmzsHve6Qtzq-qaZp8cMpdb-Xx7LV-bazfUzgBv9mS5lf5gRxoCkEMQAvD_BwE Hope this helps, thanks
Hi! We didn’t notice any smoking areas at the rest stops, but it’s best to check with the bus company or look for signs when you’re there. Safe travels!
Hi, Yes, there are other options aside from the bullet train. You can use limited express trains, local and rapid trains via the JR Tokaido Line, or occasional overnight trains. These options are cheaper but take much longer and involve multiple transfers. You can use www.rome2rio.com to find routes, thanks
Hi, we just had backpack inside the bus, it would be too tight for the leg room if you will bring carry on luggage inside. Some willer bus do not have capacity to load big luggages, it is important to check the details of the bus before booking if they have space for bigg luggages. In our case, the bus that we booked have the capacity to load big luggages. Thanks
Thank you for sharing this Karlo & Cathy! I also consider to purchase overnight bus ticket from Tokyo to Osaka, but can you inform me how you traveled in Osaka after riding the bus? Did you use an IC card or what? Bcs I’m still a bit confused to ride subway or metro in Osaka since I only prepare Suica card. Thanks in advance!
Hi, we purchased a separate ticket from Umeda station to Namba station (where our hotel is) but we also have Suica card for the commute that covers Japan Rail Pass. Here is a link that might help you navigate Osaka Metro - www.jrpass.com/blog/30-tips-on-how-to-use-japan-s-metros hope this helps :)
Hi, we didn’t do online check in, we just made sure that the bus that we booked have trunk so we can put our luggages, some buses might not have. You can check here for other infos about luggages for willer bus willerexpress.com/en/guide/luggage/ hope this helps, thanks😊
