It is lower in the front when finished here. A tape measure helps sometimes but different areas of the deck measure a little different. Looking at it as a whole from side to side on a flat surface will level out great. Thanks for watching!
Great process explanation. My manual tells me the front of the deck should be 1/4" lower than the back. My manual is in the garage but you can verify this yourself. Reasoning behind it,not exactly sure why

The bolt behind the hex screw will move as the braket holding the deck up is adjusted up/down. When the bracket goes down (or deck gets adjusted up) the hex behind the bolt with go clockwise. You can turn it independently and it will cap the bracket into place then tighten the bolt down to keep it there
Good video. Is there a way to raise the entire deck....a lot? When I put my blade on the 1 setting, the blade digs into the ground. I also want to bush hog my land with it. I noticed the blade suspension has several holes where the deck can hang from and thought maybe I could raise it there. I also thought about putting larger tires on the mower. Thanks
I agree, and wanted to raise the deck. I actually did do that since I posed. There were 2 more sets of holes that hold the deck up and I did raise it about 3/8 @@toddboone9142
@@IndRepair it does that on all of them the bolts back out but since I tighten it up it stopped doing it I even bought new gaskets but when I went to take out the bolts I didnt need a tool to loosen them so I snugged them up and it stop and ty for videos like this

Why is there adjustment in the back for the left side only? This takes stupidity to entire new level. There HAS to be adjustment for the left and the right sides, like they have on John Deer mowers for example. Also, once you loosen the 13mm bolt you should then use the larger nut to rise or lower the deck. Not by pulling up and down on the deck or the bracket. Lastly, measure blade height not the deck height.
Many mowers have adjustments on only one side. Some you can switch out for adjustable hangars so both sides have it (Husqvarna/AYP decks). You can adjust it either way, pulling up or down just seems easier to me but yes turning the large nut works also
@@IndRepair The large nut has toothed gear on it that engages into teeth on the bracket. By moving the nut, one moves the gear and moves the left side of the deck up/down. Manually pushing the deck and working against the teeth is hard and not smart. Still, with only 1 adjustment it is impossible to level the deck. Regardless what some people may say. I speak from personal experience.
