Here's a ride I went on in May 2021, in the heart of the pandemic, during the Idul Fitri holiday. We avoided the check points aimed at keeping people from entering and leaving the city and made our way to Mount Arjuno, at the Tretes Access point. Unfortunately, I found out that my old body isn't as young as my 17-year-old mind or my 25-year-old heart, and an old army injury to my knee resurfaced after many years to remind me to slow down. Still a great adventure and an excruciating climb to base camp 1, where we pitched out tent for the night.
