Costa Brava = Wild Coast. What a fabulous ride. I holiday in Catalonia most years, and it's such a shame you turned back south just as the roads and scenery get better. If you are up that way again I highly recommend making your way north to Cadaques and the Cap de Creus (pronounced Kadda-kess). From there take the mountain pass to Cerbere in France then continue along the coast to Perpignan. You can also visit Andorra, the roads to which are truly some of the best biking roads I have ever been on.
I have ridden and driven along the Gl682 on a few occasions it has to be one of my favourite roads in Europe, it can get busy these days in the Summer hoping to get out there again this year, great video
Brilliant video, ridden in Spain a few times bit further down the coast South of Granada in the Sierra Nevada National Park/Mountains, the scenery was equally brilliant, roads fabulous and the hospitality equally great. To feel the sun on your back on roads like that as you said Tony what’s not to like and if you love motorcycling then this is a must. Another good un Tony, keep up the good work. 👍😊
This and the Pyrenees are my favorite areas to ride after the Alps. The costal road Tossa de Mar is unbeatable. From Sant Feliu to Lloret de Mar is none-stop technical twisties.
I like the red spyder in the garage , u are lucky to ride at this time in Spain .........We are getting snow tonight , might see if they rent the spyder for a few days next time in Spain , nice road must be great for a ride , I might just book a week end of may ( from Canada) after looking at your fantastic ride.... ( ok some more expenses .. but sh**i happen as you got planted but you get a new bike ..) really have given me the taste.....Its also very good that you mix in your video bike & equipment review and some tours ... Alain & Yellow
Nice video from you. I love watching these sorts of adventures with great insight for future destinations. Top marks go to Revv Travel for demonstrating excellent customer service. Look forward to your next exploits.
That looked lovely and the two day tour would be handy for my work situation... I will be looking into booking a two day tour with Revv Travel, prob not until autumn though... I don't actually have a passport atm though!
Yep it was, as not someone who has ridden GS’s very much I forgot how wide the cylinders are. We’ve all made little mistakes like that. Bad luck that such a smalll misjudgement had a such big consequences, I think that’s what the OP was referring to
Absolutely. We have all made misjudgments but the effects of such a minor misjudgment in this case are significant. Fair credit to the company for being so reasonable about it. @@mancavemoto
Methinks EVERY GS1300 rider with a brain will be ordering protection for their beloved 'unbreakable' bike...Just imagine if this happened in the deserts of Morocco where you can't get a phone signal...
What a glorious break from the winter doldrums 😃👍! I know a lot of comments have been about adding crash bars, but it does seem like a miss by BMW not protecting that wiring with something more than a plastic cover, given how vulnerable, and necessary, it is 🤔.
Imagine if this had happened in a telephone black-spot in the deserts of Morocco? Seems to me like BMW have dropped the ball with this bike as this was clearly a very 'easy-to-do' incident.
I wonder if there are or will be, after market/3rd party upgrades for the engine cable protectors? I wonder if Bruce (teapotone) has any news or research on this issue for his own new GS?
No hidden costs no, not sure if there is an option to add extra insurance coverage? Bear in mind that price is per person based on a rider and pillion. A single rider will pay a bit more.
@@robb8773 yep, the bikes were new in and as I mentioned in the video the engine guards were on order and have now arrived. Still it’s a poor piece of design to run that wiring there. It doesn’t appear it’s the case on the 1250?
Yeah for sure. On my 1250GS wire comes from behind the cylinder and then to the middle, not in front like the 1300. I love my 1250 but do want to take a test ride on the 1300. I might be looking for trouble, lol@@mancavemoto
@@simulacrae it’s the first time I commented on RU-vid about the GS. And probably the last one, seeing how butthurt GS fans are when someone doesn’t love their beloved toy. Useless.
Omg now that looked like a fantastic spot for a few days away, Spain , great people amazing weather and amazing food ,, that’s rite up my street I’ll be definitely looking into Revv Travel 🫡👏👍🙋🏻♂️
I have traveled to Catalonia many times. Ironically just where Tony turned back is where the scenery really picks up. If you do go, I can highly recommend you continue north to Cadaques (pronounced Kadda-Kess), then on to the Cap de Creus, then ride to Argeles-Sur-Mer in France via the coast road. Stunning to say the least. On the way back you can ride via Andorra and the Pyrenees mountains. Biking doesn't get much better.
