On July 31, 2023, the first phase of the REM opened between Gare Centrale and Brossard. Now, you can experience the Réseau Express Métropolitain from home! Enjoy this rearview perspective of the ride as we travel southbound (A1) leaving from Gare Centrale. This ride was filmed in the afternoon of July 28th 2023.
The REM operates using Alstom Metropolis trainsets that are fully-automated (GoA4), allowing for frequent service. This also allows for large windows all around the vehicle, including the front, where all can enjoy the incomparable views offered by the REM. By the end of 2024, the remaining segments of the REM to Anse à l'Orme and Deux-Montagnes will extend the network further North and West, with the Airport branch due to open in 2027. Once completed, the REM will extend over 67km and serve 26 stations.
