In this video I ride my Voromotors Emove Roadrunner to the pharmacy while battling Los Angeles traffic while in the bike lane. I encountered many cars & trucks in the bike lane on this trip & had some pretty close calls. This video should give you an idea of what it's like to commute with an e-bike in the Los Angeles area.

I just got my Roadrunner Pro yesterday. I have a Super 73 Rx now, but the Roadrunner Pro is such a beast , that it’s too scary. Still got to get used to the torque on dual motors

Wow you got a couple of nice bikes! I know what you mean, it is a huge step up from a 48v s73. I actually just bought my Talaria xxx & I also fear my new bike's power haha.

13:32 you sure did catch up; also, love your ebike, can't believe yours go up to 35 miles; wish i have one, but i know i need to have a driver's license (or prudence; after all great power is great responsibility) and some serious investment if i want to upgrade from my 17 mph ebike

Going faster is fun but it's still fun to cruise at slower speeds. I still use my Lectric xp

Bruh. You’re in my neighborhood. 😆. I took the same road last month with my 10 year old. Have you tried an actual range test with it? Great video btw!
@StuartGrand

Nice! I have not tried an actual range test but I know I get at least 22 miles in dual motor mode 3. I'm guessing about 25 miles would be the limit for me but probably more if I switched to lower power modes. Thanks for watching!

Between road runner pro and XXX , I would personally go with the XXX due to the fact , That the pro would probably still be the somewhat same experience As the regular road runner While the XXX would be a whole new experience, plus I know Luna bike shop has it in El segundo , I’m pretty sure they would do the maintenance on it.

Yes I'd agree. So far every person I've talked to has said to get the Talaria x3. Hopefully I'll get one before the year ends

It looks like I'll end up getting the talaria x3 first. Then maybe by the time I can afford another PEV, the RR Pro 2 will be available. I would get the pro but since I already have the V1 RR I'd rather get something different first

You're a bit braver than me pal! I ride every day to get to work, splitting my commute with a train to take me the majority of the 30 miles and only riding the 2-3 miles on either end of my trip here in Chicago. I have crashed once into another cyclist who appeared to be paying attention as I warned him and tried to pass him before he swerved back over into me sending us both to the ground, then I noticed he was wearing earbuds all along. Was sore for a few months after that one, got a nice road rash on my shoulder for the memories. Mine goes 30mph tops with me on it and I'm with you... those guys going 60mph+ are insane! The 30mph is PLENTY for me! I may get ballsey enough to get something that goes 45 but that's my cap on one of these things.
@StuartGrand
@StuartGrand 9 месяцев назад
Ouch! That's insane that the cyclist was traveling with ear buds in just tuned out from the rest of the world... Yeah I know what you mean, 45 is probably good enough for me too. Thanks for watching!

@@Joe-bh5ou Are you okay? Who the hell hurt you? Not that I need to explain why I chose to ride an E-Scooter instead of my folding bicycle which I do also own, but I’m going to anyway since you wanna call me lazy. The E-scooter I have easily folds up to carry whenever I need to. Like I said, I take a train between trips which means I need something that can fit on a train. Yes, bicycles are allowed on the train, but for my specific situation an e-scooter makes more sense. After work I have exactly 18 minutes to make the express train that gets me home before 6:30pm any other train after that will get me home an hour later or more so I need to get to the station quickly! I’m no track athlete so I can’t bike as fast as this scooter can go and even still the scooter just barely makes the train. Also having a scooter allows me more options for seating on a packed train and I take up less space than a bicycle. Also, I have to scale a total of 8 stories of stairs DAILY carrying this 55lb scooter folded. My folding bicycle takes too long to break down to a compact carrying size and even still it’s incredibly awkward and painful to carry, it’s best designed for stuffing in a car trunk or a small corner of your home, not carrying up multiple flights of stairs. Not to mention the revolving doors I have to use at the train station where I need to enter/exit. E-scooter is the answer all the way around. And before you say why not just walk… my commute is already an hour long. Walking would add at least 1.5 more hours to that. If you read all that, I’m sure you’re still gonna call me a lazy so and so and that’s fine, but I’d like to see you do my daily commute and still call me lazy.

He's definitely not ok & my channel hurt his feelings somehow. He should be removed from my channel now. I think he's jealous he can't ride bikes or e-bikes

Damn 40mph on a bike is crazy. Well I was thinking might as well ride a fuel efficient motorcycle but being able to use the bike lanes and side walks is nice it is like VIP lane. How much are those bikes that reach 35-40mph? I considered riding my bicycle to places but I could not justify all that pedaling effort on these hilly areas and doubling my travel time to save like few bucks a day but maybe with e bikes it is actually worth the savings since you can go so much faster.
@StuartGrand
@StuartGrand 9 месяцев назад
So this bike costs about $1600 now but there's a faster version with full suspension for $2600. These are technically not e-bikes since they do not have pedals but there are ebikes on the market with pedals that go 35+. You could check out the Ariel Rider Grizzly or Onyx RCR. In the LA area the cops don't hassle me at all but other areas cops are not as forgiving. Ebikes are awesome because you don't have to register/insure them and like you said, you get your own bike lane. I've been able to save a decent amount of gas by using this bike. Thanks for watching!
@butWhyDad
@butWhyDad 9 месяцев назад
@@StuartGrand Oh yeah that RCR stuff looks very cool. It is literally an electric motorcycle with pedals lmao. I don't even know why it has pedals to begin with that motor and battery pack, it must be so heavy.
@StuartGrand
@StuartGrand 9 месяцев назад
Yeah they don't expect you to pedal it at all, just there so it can be called an "ebike" to avoid paying insurance & registration lol. It is a pretty heavy bike at 150 lbs.
