1:20 About 300 yards south of that spot is a Purple Martin project with a bunch of bird houses on really tall poles. They have a Purple Martin Festival every year where they basically hand feed all the Martins.

Awesome, I didn't know that. As I'm riding I always keep my eyes and ears open for birds. 👍

What a great ride. Looks like the perfect day. I like riding trails that go through small towns. So much character and fun meeting locals. Looking forward to Day 3.

I really appreciate your videos, Thomas. My wife and I had the good fortune to meet you as we were getting on the train in DC to start our first ever bike adventure, riding and camping the GAP and C&O. You were heading to Cumberland to do the C&O, again. It was kind of you to take a moment to chat before boarding. Our ride could not have gone better. It was a real treat and I have been contemplating the OTET for our next adventure. I was excited to see you start posting videos. Keep up the great work and happy riding to you!

I remember you! 😊. It was a pleasure to chat with you briefly before we had to board the train. I'm glad your trip went well and turned out to be a success, mine as well. OTET is a great trail and I hope you get to ride it. Thank you for following along, working on the next day's video now and should post it soon. All the best to you and your wife and thanks again for watching and leaving a comment! 😊

I live about 10 minutes from Applecreek. A charming town of about 1200 people. Great show by the way.

I assumed it's less than 2K people in this town. Looks like a beautiful charming small town where everyone knows everyone. I wonder why they have the John Appleseed Festival? Wonderful small town.

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful! I’ve had a stressful morning. This was nice to sit back and relax to before I get busy with homeschooling with my son.

Awesome trip. Great price on the room. Looked like a nice trail system. The locks are neat to see. Pretty neat to see the Amish area and the dirt roads. Easier on the animals for sure. You were the main attraction of the parade. They were all like, what is that mechanical thing you are riding! Riding through that area you need to watch out for all the road apples. LOL. Well done on your ride. Have a great day.

It was a nice ride through the Amish area. Ohio has a lot of Amish people, it's a different way of living. Thanks for watching

That is my favorite ride on the OTET - Southern Towpath and Amish Country. That climb to Turkey Hollow is brutal!! We've done it three times. We usually jump right into the pond before setting up camp. Some years it has been very clean - other a little muck to break through. Looking forward to the next one - cheers!

Great section of the trail. I agree, that climbing to Turkey Hallow Campground was brutal but heading back down would have been fun but I went down from the other side. Have you rode that one, it would be really brutal to climb from there, but the campground was good, beautiful views all around. Thanks for following my adventure, such a great trail.

I went to elementary school in Apple Creek. Small world! Looks like you were there when the Johnny Appleseed Days parade was about to kick off.

That's right I saw the banner Johnny Appleseed Days. I need to look up what this all is about but it looked like the whole town was out enjoying the parade, such a small town. 👍

You can fix the notification problem if you unsubscribe and subscribe right back then after that it starts to notify you again, it's some kind of cliche but that fixes the notification problem. Yes, I was in Ohio riding from Cleveland to Cincinnati 326 miles along the Ohio to Erie Trail and Amish country roads. Thanks for watching 😊👍

Some serious hills in Amish Country. Looks like you earned your rest on day 2.

That section through the Amish area is hilliest but the rest of the trail is pretty flat.

Haha, I know they bought their chairs out to see me 😂 I was silently hoping to see Tim on the trail but at least I got to see his friends, although I didn't know at that time👍

Always have enjoyed the Towpath trails of Ohio. I hiked one in Northwest Ohio for about 15 miles once. Bicycle rode all over the area. Have a safe trip my friend! We hope you are doing good.

That isn't a bad price for a place to stay. I like the boardwalks through the woods. Very cute towns and trail! That was an interesting neighborhood you rode through with the Amish. You ended up in a parade lol. Great video, thanks for taking us with you!

Interesting ride through Amish countryside. Different lifestyle, they're living in their own world, I guess it's more peaceful. I recently learned that there's an Amish community here in Florida too, who knew. Yes, I happened to ride through that small town when they had the parade there or maybe they lined up for me 😂.

You probably passed some Mennonites as well as Amish. Sometimes their lifestyle is more peaceful, but there are also some problems, just like all people. Did you mean the Sarasota area Amish and Mennonite in Florida?
@FollowThomas
@FollowThomas 24 дня назад
@@aurora571000 You're right, some were Mennonites but I think Amish people were in their black horse and buggies. I watched some RU-vid videos about Amish in Florida but I guess they were Mennonites.
